Chapter 8 - The punishment
I sat in Edmund's office silently watching as he paced back and forth behind his desk, Lily sat next to me, glaring at the side of my head. After a few minutes Edmund broke the silence." So, let me get this straight, according to the witnesses, Ms. Huges and Ms. Huges, both saw you start the fight between you two, Ms. Faye"
"I bumped into her and she tried to slap me, I was just I defending myself" I explained and I heard Lily scoff at this but say nothing. Edmund sighed before sitting at his desk." Starting today, you both have detention. Ms. Banks you will clean every window in the dinning hall until they are spotless. Ms. Faye, your to clean the floor of the entrance hall until you see your reflection in it, Understand?" We both nodded and he continued" if this ever happens again, the punishment will be much worse"
" yes, Headmaster Knighlty" we both mumbled before he let us leave.
Back in the dorm room, I laid on my bed and just looked at the ceiling. Lynn was on her bed in the same position but she was smirking." If I only I could have seen you put that weed in her place" she laughed and I smiled" I don't know how I did it, I just did" I told her.
" I still wish I could have seen it, she's nothing but a spoiled brat, she's the daughter of a duke, the Queen's brother to be exact"
" oh great, you've made me fill worse, I almost broke her arm" I mumbled into my pillow but Lynn laughed and I joined in after a few minutes.
A few days later, I was sitting on the floor of the entrance hall scrubbing away at the floor, when Lily came out of the Dinning Hall. She spotted me and smirked." You missed a spot loser" the next thing I knew the bucket had been dumped on my head. I glared at her just as Lynn came down the stairs, she saw what was going on and frowned, then with a smirk she flicked her wrist and the mop leaning against the wall, stood up and seemed to fly over and start hitting her in the shoulder.
She screamed and spun around before running off soaking wet, with the mop chasing her the whole way. I looked at Lynn in shock and she smiled." You'll learn that in a few months" she helped me up and I smiled" thanks, Lynn"
" what are friends for" she shrugged before helping me with floor.
And that's how I made the best friend I ever had, little did know she was only the first of many.
