Chapter 13 - The Story

" How are you alive" I asked still in shock. She smiled taking my hand across the table." I never died, but your father..." She trailed off and Victor added" when the house caught fire, your mother was the first one out, while your father went after you and your sister"

" but why did you leave us?" I asked and she sighed" Luna, I'm going to tell you story and you must believe me, I did it for you"

(Flash back )
18 years ago....

I was walking home from the market, and I decided to take a path through the woods, when it started raining. I took shelter in a nearby cave, only to hear the sound of a baby crying. I walked further into the cave and came upon a shrine. Laying on the shrine was basket with a baby wrapped in a blanket almost as black her hair.

I picked her up and she smiled at me with these dark green eyes that looked like emeralds. I took her home and raised her as if she were my own. Soon I had a little one of my own, but on her 16th birthday, a man appeared and gave us choice. Give you up or the house would burn and he'd take her by force.

Flash back over

I frowned" so you choose to save us" she nodded" but when your father tried to get to you, the house burst into flames."

When I didn't say anything she took my hand again" I know its hard to adjust to all of this but -" but I cut

" I don't want this life, I don't want this great destiny that everyone says I have, I just want to be Luna" I mumbled before leaving the room and going outside. I walked into the stables and sat down on a hay bail, I felt something touch my back and looked to see a pitch black horse with brown crest under its eye like my birthmark, I smiled and touched her nose." Her names Moonbeam" someone told me and I turned to see...
