Chapter 2 - The Goodbye And The Booger
I walked toward the Seeker and he shook my hand. I stood next to Lora, but I didn't see anyone else but my little sister who was trying not to cry. I tuned out anything the Seeker was saying, not that it mattered, I had heard it all before. We were allowed to say good bye and when Joy ran over to me, she didn't want to let go." Joy, you have to keep yourself alive, do what I taught you"
" but-" she started to say but I cut her off" do as I say, don't get caught, and take enough that they won't notice but enough to keep yourself fed, understand" she nodded and I smiled" your strong Joy, don't let anyone tell you differently ". I gave her one last hug before turning walking over to where the other girls were standing. The Seeker opened the door of the carridge and we climbed in.
After a few hours of endless trees and farms, the Carridge stopped. We all looked out of the window in amazement at the school, a castle was more like it. " Open the gate" the driver called out and the carridge started moving again. We climbed out and followed the Seeker inside, I was the last one in so I was the only one that saw the door close on its own, making me jump and bump into Lora knocking us all over like dominos. Well everyone except the Seeker who ignored us.
The other three glared at me and I blushed in embarrassment. " Sorry" I told them before standing back up. We heard a cough and looked up to see a boy who looked no more then 20 or 21 standing at the top of the staircase, he had dark brown hair and eyes so green they looked blue."Welcome" he told us" to Lunarwood's Academy of the chosen, My name is Edmund Knighlty and I'm the Headmaster, and yes I understand that I appear to young to be a Headmaster but that was my fathers choice not mine" he shrugged with a smile.
I stood there in silent shock, he seemed so carefree, like he didn't care at all that we were here.' What a booger' I thought to myself as he turned to walk away but stopped, glanced at me before smiling and walking away.
