13. 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐨𝐧

5 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 2021

Zara and Max were reunited, this time lying in Max's bed in his Monaco apartment. Zara was now 18 weeks along, a small bump forming on her lower abdomen. Now that the bump was there, Max never hesitated to rest his hand there or to lie on Zara's lap, talking to the bump. This time happened to be extra special. The baby finally kicked.
The couple looked at each other in shock. They didn't think it was real until the little one kicked again.

"Oh my gosh Max!"

"I know. They're just saying hi aren't they?"
They both laughed at that. Neither of them thought that they'd be in the same place when this moment happened.

"He's a strong boy isn't he."

"I think you mean she."
Zara rolled her eyes at the way Max corrected her. She was adamant that they'd be having a baby boy, while he swore up and down that it was a girl. Yet they both agreed that their baby was a little lion. They'd come to this conclusion as Max was often called the Dutch lion and their child was growing despite the challenges the doctors said they would face.

"Well since you are so sure about the gender help me out with a list of names."
Zara always planned ahead, which didn't always workout but nonetheless she was determined to have a name picked for their little one before they arrived.

"Ok what about Emilia for a girl. That goes with my middle name and I can call her Imola as a nickname."
She didn't hesitate to hit him on the head with the notepad that was in her hand.

"I like the name but you will not call our child Imola, or any circuit for that matter."

"Ok. This might seem random but I was thinking of names that represent both of our families. For example a name like Leone means lioness in Latin, and I'm the Dutch lion. And a name like Tala has Native American origins, meaning female wolf. So I think Leone Tala is a good name. "

Zara had grown emotional hearing Max explain the ideas for their child. But she still had her own change to make to the name.

" I think Emilia Leone is good and then we can save Tala as a second middle name or a name for another baby. "

" Oh so there is going to be another baby?"
Max didn't know what to think of her statement. The couple had been lightly flirting, teasing the idea of rekindling their relationship. But Max had allowed Zara to control the pace of their relationship. If she wanted to be official again the he would be happy but if she wasn't ready to do that again then he'd understand.

"Yes. That's if you're willing to stick around with my crazy ass."

"Trust me there is a limited amount of things that I love in life. One of them is your ass and the other is you. And this time I swear, nothing will make me leave you ever again."

"Promise? "

"Promise."
