"Max are you sure about this? Because this could lead to my dad killing your dad and so on."

"Yes I'm sure, and don't worry the restaurant is strictly reserved for our families so even if they do kill each other then there will be no witnesses. Besides our mothers and siblings have already met, it's just the two stubborn bulls that need to get along. "
The blonde rolled her eyes at his analogy.

"Of course you'd call them bulls. I'm going to get ready, double check that dad will be on his best behavior and then we'll head on over to the restaurant. "

" Sounds like a good plan except for the part where your dad will be on his best behaviour, we all know that won't happen. All we can hope for is that no one ends up dead. "

" If you keep on being so pessimistic you'll be dead. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to wrangle Jack into a t-shirt. Jack Wolff! Don't run away you coward! "
Before Max could respond the singer had already dropped the call, leaving him to chuckle at his girlfriend's relationship with her brothers. It was entertaining to say the least when he'd hear the conversations between the three.

The couple had decided that now was the perfect time to get their families to meet, with back to back races coming up it would be impossible to find a good time to meet up. After this all that would be left would be to publicly confirm their relationship. He just prayed that he wouldn't get fired for it.

On the other side of town Zara was finishing up in the shower. After trying and falling to get her dad to agree to be civil that evening, she'd left it to Susie to threaten and negotiate with the man. She was tired, having attended the last two races had meant that she was either at the circuit, on a plane or quarantined in a hotel room. It didn't help that Mercedes and Redbull refused to stay in the same hotels, therefore cutting down her time with Max significantly.

Finally ready to go Zara headed to the living room where her dad was waiting along with the rest of the family. Unfortunately Diane was on set for another film and Theo was already back at boarding school in Switzerland.

"I'm ready. Is everyone else good to go?" Her parents nodded, hoisting her energetic baby brother up onto her hip she led the way out the door. She avoided speaking to her father these days as they'd often end up arguing about her relationship with Max.

Both families were finally seated in the quite restaurant, light jazz music played in the background as a waiter went around handing menus to the guests. Max and Zara were sat next to each other, the mothers on either side of them and their fathers at either end of the table. Light conversation has sprung up as the women caught up. Yet nothing could cover the tension between Jos Verstappen and Toto Wolff, who were glaring at each other.

With the table cleared it was finally time to discuss the elephant in the room.

"So tonight as you know was an opportunity for Zara and I to introduce you guys to one another. It's been successful, for the most part. The reason for this is that we want to go public with our relationship."

At this, the two older gentlemen instantly objected, causing Sophie and Susie to quickly remove the younger children from the table and usher them towards the play area. Victoria also got up, deciding to watch over the kids and avoid the unnecessary stress that this conversation would bring her. She was in her final trimester and anything could set her off.
