WHY NOW OF ALL TIMES!?

Chapter 15

~Eren POV~

I was standing the quad with everyone. Armin and Sasha were talking, with Mikasa and Jean fighting every now and again. Suddenly, Mikasa fell to her knees and was coughing hard. I kneel beside her and asked," Eren! Are you okay?" I was worried. Mikasa started coughing blood. Armin said," Mikasa, you should take Eren to your room, since yours is the closest." I nodded and picked Mikasa up. 

She stopped coughing and was instead breathing hard. I was beyond worried. I reached Mikasa's room and opened the door. I lied Mikasa down on her bed and she held her stomach. I sat beside her, on the bench. I held her hand and she said," Eren, leave. I could be sick and I don't want you to get sick." 

I shook my head." No, if you are sick, then I'm going to take care of you. Besides, don't forget I'm in your body! Wouldn't it be weird if I wasn't watching you. I mean, you do stay by my side all the time." She shook her head and started coughing again," Eren, I do not care about the fact that we have switched bodies! I do not want you getting sick! I want you to leave my room! Now!" 

I sighed deeply and said," Mikasa, you can't deal with this alone. Let me take care of you, please? I'm begging you." She sighed and said," Fine." She sounded so rough. I saw Captain Levi come into Mikasa's room and he said," Mikasa, I have a note here for you. I haven't read it yet." I took the note and said," Thank you Captain Levi." He nodded and left the room. 

I looked at Mikasa. Her breath had become short, fast and heavy. I said," Mikasa, you got a note. I'm going to read it out loud." She nodded. I started reading:

Dear Mikasa

I bet that Eren is reading this right now. The reason I know that, is because you are busy dying right now. You have been infected with a deadly disease. Do not worry about your friends, they have all been vaccinated. Even Eren. Dr. Jaeger brought the vaccine years ago. If Armin doesn't find the vaccine, then you will die in a month. Say goodbye to Eren, your beloved. He's mine now. You stole my parents, you stole my friends and even my love. I WILL take back them. Hope you die, sister. I never loved you, and I know you never loved me. That's why you ignored me all the time. I hope you die a horrible death, just like our parents. That was YOUR fault. You deserve to die! And if Armin does find out the vaccine, I've got a second plan.

PS. Eren, you belong to me now, forget about Mikasa. 

I finished reading. I was shocked. I gasped out loud and asked," Mikasa, you have a sister? But why does she want you to die?" Mikasa looked away and said," Um, y-yeah, about that. I-I never told anyone about that. I never thought she'd come after me and you. I tried my best to keep her a secret from you so she wouldn't come after you." 

I sighed," Mikasa! I've told you many times that we're in this together! Stop trying to do this all by yourself!" I shouted it at Mikasa. She said," I'm sorry okay! I'm sorry! I wanted you to stay safe! Can you blame me! It's not my fault!" I deeply sighed," Ahh, fine. We need to call Armin and tell them about this. We can't keep this a secret anymore." 

Mikasa said," Ugh fine. Call them in." We called them in. I said," Alright, guys. We have something to tell you. Eren and I aren't actually um in our own bodies......" Everyone looked at us confused. Mikasa said," What he means is, I'm Mikasa and I'm in Eren's body and Eren is in my body." Sasha gasped," Really! For real! How did this happen?!" 

I said," W-We don't know how. We just woke up with our bodies switched." Jean gasped. Connie said," For real?!" Armin sighed," Guys, give it up. There's no point in pretending anymore. Eren, Mikasa, we already knew that. I was the one who switched your bodies. But don't ask me to change you back, because I'm not going to." 

I couldn't even worry about that. I said," Armin, you need to find the vaccine. If Mikasa dies, I don't want to think about that right now." I held my head and looked down. Connie said," Hey guys, do think that if Mikasa died in Eren's body, would Eren die too." I gasped. Sasha said," Connie! Shut the hell up!" She hit Connie's head. 

I started breathing hard," Eren, calm down. I'm not going to die, don't worry. And even if I do, I will still be with you. Now come sit next to me." I got up and sat next to Mikasa. She lied her head on my chest and said," Mikasa, h-how do you feel? Has your breathing become proper yet?" She didn't answer. I looked at her. She was sleeping. 

I listened to her breathing. I said," Listen here guys, Mikasa has been infected with a deadly virus. I need you to find the cure. And don't worry, we have all been vaccinated. Please, Mikasa only have a month left. Hurry, I can't lose her." I held Mikasa close. Jean said," Eren, enjoy your time with Mikasa while you can." Connie said," We should go." 

Sasha then said," Armin, we should go research this now." Armin nodded," Let's go. We have a month left. Also Eren, how told you that?" I gave him the letter," Mikasa's sister. I don't know anything about her though. Sorry." 

Armin smiled," It's fine. Let's go, Sasha." She nodded and they left the room. Connie left and Jean walked to the door. He stopped and said," Eren, whatever you do, don't let Mikasa die. If you die, I will make sure you die. Are we clear!" 

I brought Mikasa close and smiled," It's fine. She will not die. I love her so much." Jean left the room. I put my arm around Mikasa and she cuddled by me. This was nice.
