Finding Love

Prologue

"I was starting to grow concerned." Rumplestiltskin says smiling at Cora who he had been waiting for to show up so they could run off together.

"Well here I am." Cora responds, with little enthusiasm. They kiss but Rumple is the only one putting any emotions into the kiss.

"Something's not right."

"Yes, you're correct."

"Well, what happened? Couldn't you take the king's heart?"

"No, I was able to do it.... I chose not to."

"Ah." Rumple said a bit confused as to why.

"I'm sorry my dear Rumple. I'm not going with you. You see, I have a wedding to get to. My own." Cora replied gently.

"Whose heart is in the box?"

"Don't make this harder..."

"You lied to me! Whose heart?" He presses with a firmer tone.

"Mine." Rumple back away with a frown. "I had to. You told me not to let anything stop me until they're on their knees. My heart was stopping me." Cora says calmly and unemotionally.

"You never loved me. Never! You're not going to get away with this. We had a contract. I'll take your baby!" Rumple says angrily and broken hearted.

"You changed the contract, Rumple. You only get your own child. And any baby I have...won't be yours." She whispers with tears in her eyes.

Rumple's face twitches and his eyes looked despaired about Cora blatantly telling him that they will never be together. He growls taking a step back and glaring at her. "You'll pay for this, Cora!" He grits out as he poofs away to his castle where he is alone.

About a month later, Cora grows concerned. That is, as concerned as she can be with her heart hidden far away from prying eyes. She was positive she was pregnant with Rumple's child. Cora couldn't bare the thought of doing what she did to her first born and abandoning it to the wolves. She was staring out off the balcony of her chambers and rubbing her stomach in thought.

"Cora dear, is something troubling you?" Asks her new husband, Henry.

Cora rolls her eyes at his obvious concern for her. She had no feelings toward the man, only the power she got once she had married him. "I have some news, Henry. I only hope you'll understand and trust me when I say I did not want this. I care deeply for you and will always put the kingdom first."

"I know that Cora. Now what is it that I need to know?"

"I'm with child. I want to keep it but no one must know it exists. For the sake of the kingdom and you."

"But why feel the need to hide the child? You are not far along and I could raise it as if it were my own. We could say that the baby is ours." Henry says shocked but also confused.

"Because I made a deal and I can't go through with it. Please, help me." She said her voice withering. Even without her heart she couldn't bare the thought of losing another child. Especially to the man she loved.
