EVIDENCE

"So you're telling me that this man gave you the mirror to banish mother? How does it work?" I ask my sister admiring the looking glass that now leans up against the wall in her bed chambers.

"Yes, but I'd hardly say he was a man. More of an evil imp." Regina says amused.

"You said that mother knew him when she was younger before she married father?" I ask a little too hopeful. I've known for a long time that Henry was not my true father but he did try to treat me the same as Regina. Mother always got in the way as if to say I didn't deserve love from him or anyone.

Regina frowned. "You think he could be your father, don't you? Evi if that's true than maybe staying in hiding away from him was a mercy mother had made for you. Just know I do love you no matter what. You are my sister despite what anyone tells you." She says kindly placing her hand on my shoulder.

"I'm sorry I couldn't help you against mother when she killed Daniel. If I had known..." Regina puts her hand up to stop me with her eyes blazing with unquenched fire.

"Don't. Just don't. I'll inform you when..." She stopped talking when Snow runs in the room and hugs Regina.

"Regina! I heard your mother is coming to stay at the castle to celebrate at the ball with us tonight. Aren't you excited?" The brat squeals in excitement. I hope my sister realizes that Snow is not the one to blame. She might have been the one to tell the secret but our mother is the heartless witch who killed Daniel.

"Yes, dear. Why don't you go get ready. I'll see you tonight, ok?" Regina says gently as if she was a mother. But I could tell she was trying to hold herself back from strangling the child.

"Who are you?" Snow asks looking at me. I smile at her kindly.

"My name is Evidence and I'm Regina's little sister. It's a pleasure to meet you Snow. My sister has told me a lot about you." I say lying to her face. If I tell the little snitch about me being older than Regina she'd blab about it to everyone. I'm not stupid enough to give her another secret that could encourage mothers wrath.

Snow smiled back at me and practically skipped out of the room in happiness.

"That's the brat who snitched on you? No wonder you thought you could trust her. She's so innocent and filled with light. She makes me want to give her everything in the world. It disgusts me." I mumble in aw and disgust.

"Tell me about it. She's insufferable. I feel so angry when I'm around her it scares me. I've asked for Rumplestiltskin to teach me magic and he agreed. I can't live like this, Evi. I feel trapped." Regina tells me with a sad look.

"Now you know how I have felt my whole life. That's why I'm leaving as soon as I can. I need to go and find out the truth. I need to find what you had with Daniel, sis. Please understand my point of view." I say hoping she'll let me leave.

Regina pressed her lips into a thin line. "Yes, I understand. Can't let you go without saying goodbye, though." She says hugging me. "Good luck. I hope you find what you are looking for."

"Thank you, sis. I love you. I hope you find love too for what it's worth." I smile and kiss her on the forehead.

"Tomorrow after the wedding I'll push mother into the looking glass and neither of us will have her controlling our lives." Regina smiles.

"I'll be there with you. I want to see her face when she realizes what's about to happen." I reply grinning ear to ear. I've always had a bit of a vindictive side.

The next day...

Regina and I are in her chanbers with mother. I sit down drinking some wine to keep myself from killing mother with my glare. Ever since I was a child she made my life a living hell. Never caring about me and giving everything to Regina. I wasn't jealous of Gina cause she felt as trapped as I did. She never wanted the life Mother forced upon her. I guess that's the only thing I was glad about.

"Oh, sit up straight Evidence. You're in the presence of the new Queen!" My mother says smiling at Regina.

I roll my eyes and huff. "Relax mother, I don't think Regina cares about how I act. I'm surprised you even noticed I was in the room, mother." I reply bitterly.

Regina's lips quirked up for a second at my antics. I've always been the one to stand up to mother no matter the consequences.

"What's this?" Mother asks Regina looking at the looking glass covered in the wrapping. Now ignoring me as if I was an annoying fly.

"I don't know, a gift?" Regina says in an innocent voice. She always has been a good liar.

"Maybe it's a portrait." Mother says than uses her magic to take off the fabric wrappings. "Oh, a looking glass. Not nearly as personal. I wonder sometimes if the people really love you." She says shaking her head disappointedly.

I growl and stand up to argue for Regina's sake but Regina puts her hand up saying don't bother. I sit back down and stare daggers at our mother.

"I'm doing my best, mother." Regina says sadly.

"Oh, honey. I'm sorry. Come here." She says apologetically and pulling Regina over to where the mirror is.

I stand up and walk over with them with a smile on my face as mother turns her back towards the looking glass.

"Look at you, with your whole life ahead of you. And it's going to be better than you can imagine. The king's not a strong man, the kingdom will be yours. Raise the tributes, form a personal gaurd, let everyone know where the new power lies. And you'll hold the hearts of your people in your hands." Mother says calmly holding on to Regina's arms as she gives her advice.

"Is that what you would do mother?" Regina asks as she turns around working up the courage I presume.

"Yes, that's exactly what I'd do." Mother laughs.

"Well, the thing is, I don't want to be you." Regina replies quickly turning around and tries to reach out and push mother. But mother uses her magic to hold her arms away like a barrier stopping them.

"What are you doing? You think it's that easy to get rid of me? You're stuck with me forever darling. Because I'm your mother and I know best." Regina frowns and struggles against the magic.

I see a man appear in the mirror and give the motion pushing with his hands as he smirks at Regina. I don't wait another second and I run up to mother pushing her into the mirror but I end up falling into it as well.

"No! Evi!" Is the last thing I heard my sister yell before I'm tossed into wonderland with my mother.

"You careless child! Now we can never get back home!" Mother growls lifting up her hand and beginning to choke me with her magic.

"I... had...to! You... are...a monster!" I gasp trying to breathe.

"What? I saved you and I kept you. I gave everything to Regina and you. Yet you two continue to disobey me." She frowns releasing me.

"You killed her fiance! You would never let me out of the estate or castle grounds! I was practically your prisoner!" I scream at her in anger.

"I did what was best for both of you! But if you've really only felt like my prisoner than I guess that's what you'll become." She whispers caressing my face with one hand as she plunges her other hand in my chest and rips out my heart.

"I hate you!" I hiss collapsing to the ground in pain.

"I know. Now get up and wipe away those tears. We have work to do." My mother says authoritatively controlling me with my heart. I have no choice but to do what she says.
