The picture is a bunch of Tweets about what happened, and the top paragraph is from an article.

The video above/ to the side is exactly how I feel at this point. I hope that you will understand why by the time I'm finished with this rant.

You know that school you've been hearing about? You know, the one with the pledge said in Arabic and the discrimination against it? Yep, that's my school.

Before I begin, this is my personal opinion on the topic. If you do not agree, please don't hesitate to pm me what you think. (I'd rather the conversation be private so no one gets offended.) Also, it would be appreciated if you did not hate on my opinion, because you do not have to agree.

Alright. So this week for my school is International Language Week. I don't know if that's just for my school, or other schools, too? Idek.

So for one of the activities the principle said that the Pledge of Allegiance will be said in a different language every day. We actually only had the first day of that on Wednesday, because the two people that were scheduled to do it Monday and Tuesday both backed out for some reason.

Anyway, the first language used was Arabic. This caused an uproar of sorts. You see, with everything that's going on in ISIS, a lot of people didn't like the pledge being said in that language. On top of that, we didn't even say the pledge afterwards in English.

While I agree that it was kind of weird to not say the pledge in English afterwards, people overreacted. Big time.

So before school is even halfway over on Wednesday, tons of people are posting on Twitter about terrorism and shit. Really? Is that necessary?

I actually know the girl that spoke, and yes, she is Muslim, and she's also the happiest, sweetest person I have ever met. Seriously, we need more people like her in the world.

Now, for the rest of the week, she's been getting all of these death threats, both directly and indirectly. This really pisses me off, and in the words of my English teacher, is "a load of shit that's been blown way out of proportion." Seriously.

I am so fucking angry about this. There was so much that could've been done to avoid this.

We could have, first of all, just said the pledge in another language first. We also could have said the pledge afterwards in English, or just said hello in Arabic. That doesn't mean it's okay to blow it out of proportion like this.

The poor girl in my grade is being targeted because of her ancestry. Is that really something that they think she picked? And just because she's Muslim, it doesn't mean she somehow had anything to do with 9/11, which is another thing everyone's ranting about.

Apparently, Arabic is a disrespectful language to say the pledge in because the terrorists that caused 9/11 spoke it. Let's be honest, a lot of people in my school, including me, lost someone on that terrible day. But not all Muslims are fucking terrorists now because of it.

I am so angry right now, I can't think straight. You know what else happened?

This idiot in my Spanish class started talking about how there's been rumors about a huge fight and some kid bringing a gun to school. The girl that said the pledge IS IN MY SPANISH CLASS. She literally walked in and sat down while he went on about someone bringing a gun to school TO SHOOT HER.

He claimed, loudly enough so she could hear, that it was a conversation that started before she walked in and he had a right to finish it. NO YOU FUCKING DON'T, YOU ASSHOLE. SHE IS LITERALLY SITTING BEHIND YOU SOBBING, YOU INCONSIDERATE LITTLE TWAT.

We were all just telling him to shut the hell up, but HE DID NOT CARE TWO SHITS. I WANTED TO HIT HIM UPSIDE THE HEAD WITH MY DAMN DESK.

So she was crying, and trying so hard to hide it, and everyone was just trying to hug her. She doesn't deserve this. She did nothing wrong.

So she went out into the hallway and the teacher talked to her, and when she came back she had a smile on her face. I still don't know how she was able to smile after all she has been through.

This is ridiculous. No one should be discriminated against because of their ethnicity. Just because of a horrible event that occurred years ago, (I don't mean to disrespect 9/11. It was an extremely tragic day that I and many other Americans were affected by.) some people are completely turned against the Muslim people. The United States is being divided because of discrimination, and it NEEDS TO STOP.

Every single news article about us is making us sound like complete douchebags. It's terrible, because most of the time they get the information wrong. It's just ridiculous. (How many times have I said "ridiculous" during this one rant?)

So, yeah. I've just had such a sucky week. There were so many things that happened, and it's just too much. I'm just thankful that the week is over.

My community has been ripped apart, and there's also something else that happened on Tuesday. The only "good" thing, if you can call it that, that happened is that all of the attention was put on the pledge thing instead of everything that happened on Tuesday. And for that, I am extremely thankful. It's been a terrible, horrible week. Thank god it's over. I am such a wreck right now. I've never looked forward to Friday this much.

I don't mean to sound like Poor me, but I was really affected by both things that happened this week, on top of a bunch of other stuff that also happened. And *Donkey's voice* I think I need a hug.

Let me know in the comments if you've heard about us on the news or something. I'd like to see how far it's gone, see how many states/countries think that we are complete assholes. Thanks.
