"Eda, please calm down, breathe!" Serkan urged as he led her to the office upstairs.
"How can I calm down? How do you expect me to calm down? Did you listen to what she said?" Eda yelled as Serkan took her bleeding hand in his.
"Let me clean this up first. Sit here." He insisted as he went to find a first aid kit and a bottle of water. There were still some shreds of glass stuck in her hand and now that the adrenaline levels had dropped, she was starting to feel some pain.
Serkan sat next to her on the couch and started to medicate her hand, trying to be gentle anytime he saw her flinch in pain.
"It hurts." Eda whispered as a tear fell from her eyes and Serkan knew she was not only referring to her hand. He wrapped her hand with a bandage and pulled her in for a hug.
Eda buried her head on his chest, breathing him in so she could feel alive again, or at least close to. Semiha's arrival hadn't been easy on anyone, especially for her.
"Do you feel a little bit better?" Serkan asked as he caressed her hair. "Mhm" Eda hummed in response as she slowly pulled back from the hug.
"She can not hurt you anymore Eda. I'm here. I won't let her." He assured her as he took her other hand and entwined it with his. "Let's go. Together. Let's face her together."
They both headed inside Serkan's office hand in hand. "What was the need for all the drama Eda?" Semiha asked as she threw her a death stare.
"What do you want Semiha Hanim?" Eda asked, trying to keep a strong posture.
"Dinner. With my family. I want to talk." Semiha answered.
"Then great." Efe intervened angrily. "Anne is in town too. Go have dinner with her and leave us the fuck alone."
"Efe, Eda. We will have dinner tonight and that is not up for discussion. Now as much as I would like to discuss family with you, I'd say we get back to work." Semiha continued as Eda rolled her eyes.
"You've been here like what 10 minutes and you're already trying to control us? I will not, listen to me well, I will not let you take over my life again. Do you hear me? I won't let you do to us what you did to my parents." Eda swore furiously. "So enjoy that seat while you are at it. Because you're not going to be there for long."
Their quarrel was interrupted by a panicked Leyla knocking on the door. "Serkan Bey, Eda. Aylin Hanim and Fikret Bey are here."
"Wasn't the meeting tomorrow?" Eda turned to Serkan to ask him surprised.
"It was postponed for today because they're leaving town tomorrow. I can handle it, don't worry." Serkan said and then turned to Semiha. "Leyla will show you your room and brief you in on our latest projects."
"I look forward to being properly introduced later, Serkan Bolat." Semiha said as she left the room with the black-haired assistant.
"Serkan, I want to be in the meeting. We've worked really hard for this. I'm not going to let Semiha ruin this for me." Eda insisted and Serkan knew he could not say no to her. "Are you sure?" He asked.
"Yes. I really need to get my mind off of this." Eda answered as Aylin and Fikret entered the room.
The meeting lasted for about one hour and Eda was already drained of her energies. The only bright side of the day was that the couple loved their presentation and was so excited for their new home.
"Eda, Serkan. We knew you wouldn't disappoint!" Aylin exclaimed happily as she shook their hand.
"We look forward to working again in the future together." Fikret said before he and his wife left the room happy.
