The sound of Eda's breathing, coming in a shaky, rapid panting resonated through the silence of the room. Being the light sleeper that he is, Serkan woke up to the sight that broke his heart. Eda was having a nightmare and had curled herself in a fetus position. He immediately reached to her side and cupped her face, noticing it was damp from tears. "Eda, wake up baby. It's just a nightmare, I'm here." He murmured as he wiped the tears clean from her face. "I'm here, baby. Shh, it's okay. You're okay." Serkan assured as she opened her teary eyes, a bit confused but still terrified.

"I lost them again, I was so close to them. I could have saved them this time." She cried as he pulled her in for a hug, caressing her hair to calm her down a little. "Shh, I'm here. It was just a bad dream. Come here."

After feeling her calm down a little, he pulled her down to lay her head on his chest, wrapping both his hands around her waist, securing her to him. He rubbed her back, shoulders and caressed her hair until she drifted back to sleep.
Serkan wasn't used to seeing her that vulnerable, that hurt and terrified. Though they were a lot alike at that point, both being damaged, he swore he'd pull her in his arms and protect her at all costs.

The new day dawned bright and sunny even after the fearful hours full of terror that the previous night had brought. Eda was never a morning person, she used to hate when the light of the day would fall in her face to wake her up every day. But for some reason, without understanding why, the mornings suddenly became beautiful when she'd wake up next to Serkan. Next to his presence that brought her warmth and that made her feel at home.
Slowly opening her eyes up, she met a certain green pair already staring at them. "Good morning baby." He murmured in his raspy morning voice as he pressed his lips against her closed eyelid softly.

"Morning" Eda whispered softly as she rubbed her eyes with her hand, her head still in his chest.

"Breakfast is ready. Are you hungry?" Serkan asked as he rubbed her shoulders to keep her from falling asleep again.

"Yes, I am."

"Then go freshen up a little, we have a long day ahead." Serkan reminded. "We're going to visit the site we talked about yesterday and then go to Art Life. I'm going to pick you up at 8 to go to the event."

Eda gasped loudly and punched his chest annoyed. "That was today?! Why didn't you tell me it was today?" she asked as she quickly got out of bed and headed to the bathroom to freshen up a little.

Serkan was already waiting for her at the nicely decorated table in the terrace, right next to the pool. Turning around when he heard Eda approach him, he couldn't help but stare at her beautiful figure, wearing nothing but one of his shirts that fell down her thighs.
"I love seeing you in my shirts." Serkan observed as she took a seat next to him with a smile on her face. "Is the whole company coming over for breakfast and you forgot to tell me?" Eda chuckled. "You can feed an entire neighborhood with this."

"Funny, but it wasn't me who prepared them so don't worry." Serkan revealed under her confused gaze. "It was my housekeeper, Elif anne. Though I have to agree, she's gone a little overboard when I told her you were here."

"Elif anne?" Eda asked, emphasizing the word <anne>.

"Yes, she's taken care of me my whole life. And when I moved away from my parents' house, I took her with me." Serkan explained. "I'm afraid you can't meet her today. She's gone shopping at the moment."

"I'd love to meet her sometime." Eda smiled as she took some pancakes on her plate and filled her mug with coffee. "When did you wake up?" she asked.

"I woke up at 5, did an hour of boxing, took a shower and then watched you sleep." Serkan answered as he sipped on his coffee. "How did you sleep?" he asked, recalling her having a nightmare during the night.
