Carmen & The Lycan(NEW AND IMPROVED)

Chapter Seven

I sat outside calmly watching the pups of the pack play while sketching some pictures. My cell phone's loud ringing slashed through the quiet

"Dad?" I answered once I saw who it was

"Carmen there is no time Keller was attacked and is not expected to live you need to get here now!" He boomed and hung up. I shot from the ground and shifted immeadeatly running towards the pack house,striding in wolf form all the way to our room

Once I was done packing I realized Ajax wouldn't let me go alone so I packed a bag for him too. When I finished I went downstairs to see Jax going over my new position with channing. He looked up at me and I flinched, a saddened look crossed his face.

"My brother is Dying and I need to go see him" I said blankly and it hit that I was losing my best friend and brother.

"Put the bags in my car Beta is in command" Jax nodded and said and he walked me to the car.

We pulled up in front of the pack house after 3 days of driving without stopping, and as soon as the car stopped I jumped out. I ran into the house and straight to the infirmary, leaving behind a yelling Jax.

I busted through the doors and asked the nurse where his room was located. After what felt like years she told me his room number and bolted to his room. I stood in front of the door and prepared myself, shutting my emotions off.

I opened the door and I already wanted to cry even with my emotion off.

"Keller?" I whispered and he shuddered and looked up.

He looked horrible

"Who did this to you? Tell me now and I will hunt them down and Kill them" I said through clenched teeth

"It was rouges" He said coughing

"You told me they were going to back down" I replied looking into his eyes

"It was a different group, I was out patrolling and-" He stopped to cough up blood so I helped him sit up and waited for him to continue

" -I was patrolling with team C and we were ambushed by one hundred men, we were outnumbered and on the farthest border" He said looking down

"I will find them and make them pay, I swear to you... I will make them pa-" I was beginning to get worked up inside

"No Carmen, The leader of the group was different, he was stronger than anything I had seen before. Promise me you won't go after him, alone or do anything stupid, I'm a warrior I shall die of combat wounds and I'm okay with that" he breathed out harshly and went into a long coughing fit.

His heartbeat was slowing down

"Why aren't you healing?" I asked looking over his body.

"The leader had a pure silver sword dipped in what I thought was poison it's killing my wolf..." he was panting and fighting for air

"I will avenge you Keller I promise, I love you brother" I whispered into his ear as his eyes shut slowly.

"I love you too sister" he said barely audible as the machine began to beep and his chest stopped rising. After a minute I flicked the machine off and walked out of the room.

I pummeled my fist into the nearest wall as I let one tear slip down my cheek.

Ajax kissed it away then escorted me to my father's office.

We opened the door to my father's office and I was shocked at its destroyed state. It was quiet for a moment then a chair flew across the room and smashed into the wall.

"Those were not regular rouges! They targeted my son!" My Father roared and continued to smash things.

"I know, keller said they had a pure silver blade and poison strong enough to kill a wolf" I let him know

"Carmen I'm too old and broken now I need my last child to stay safe, You have to promise me you won't go after those rogues" He said pulling me into a hug. I was shocked he was showing me this much affection. This was the most I had ever gotten from him in all the time he had stepped in to be my dad.

"I promise to protect her Alpha Richard" Ajax chimed in

"Thank Alpha Ajax, Carmen is a headstrong warrior and I know she will try to do this alone but you can't let her." He said shaking Jax's hand

"Dad how am I supposed to not want to rip their throats out after they did that to him!" I shouted as I smashed the last non broken object in the room

"I'm not asking you to forget about this and not to avenge his death, That's not how I raised you, I'm asking you not to do it alone or without a clear plan" He said sternly and I just nodded because that's all I could do.

My father calmed down and we talked for a bit about the funeral until it was time for us to rest

That night I snuggled into Ajax more than I have ever snuggled into someone. He coaxed me to sleep while my body vibrated with hurt and rage, as I let a few silent tears slip from my eyes.

'Ring ring' Ring ring'

My annoying phone woke me up and I reached over to grab it blindly and answered

"Hello?" I answered sleepily

"I hope you enjoyed your brother while he lasted" A deep voice shook me through the phone and I shot up

"Who is this?!" I snapped

"I will show you who I am when the time is right, but just know I will be collecting what is mine and what is owe to me." the voice said violently

"I will find you and when I do you will beg me to end you!" I shouted waking up Ajax

"I can't wait until we meet Carmen, Sweet dreams" He whispered and hung up
