 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐘/𝐍 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐆...

She'd adored the scent of her father. She'd sneak into her fathers closet, opening the drawers of the dark oak dresser, and inhale.

She'd inhale the scent of her father. He's deep cashmere and vanilla cologne flushed her senses, as she lay on the floor of the closet, eyes closed.

It felt much different now that he was dead. While her eyes were closed, she'd remember him. Remember how much she missed him.

Seemingly, Ana had never found y/n in the closet. She'd never thought to look beneath the deep forest of black and green master bedroom.

"Haven't heard you speak French in awhile..." Ana says quietly, as she places a bowl of fruit infront of y/n, who sits glumly, cheek pressed against her palm.

"Feels weird without him..." y/n muttered, poking at the bowl's contents with her fork.

"I know, just don't want you to lose it." Ana says, tapping the chin with the back of her hand, signaling for her to straighten her posture.

"Eat up, fun day today." Ana said, placing a folded red bathing suit next to the bowl of fruit. Y/n looks at the suit, before slowly smiling.

She hadn't seen Tom since that night, the next morning was rushed, and he hadn't come to her window or sent a letter across the vast ocean of flowers that separated the teenagers.

It sent a ping of sadness to her heart, like she could tell he was hiding something, like something bad was going to happen. She pushed it aside ultimately, deciding that she'd loved him. Nothing would change that.

Not even the curves and shapes of another woman. She knew deep inside that Tom couldn't be with anyone else beside her, but we're they even really together? No. No they weren't. And Tom's radio silence made that clear to her as she laid awake every night for a week praying Tom would come to her window again. Touch her again.

But he didn't. He drank and stole cigarettes from Mr. Malfoy with his friends, laughing and plotting, sleeping then waking up to repeat, not once thinking about her, never her.

Y/n was happy he was having fun, just upset she wasn't the cause for his happiness.

H/c strands were slicked and pulled back into a clip, as the red straps contrasted her s/c canvas. She took in a breath, pulling on a slip dress before walking downstairs. Narcissa and Marina sat on the couch, helping themselves to chocolate from a gold foil box, and expensive looking wine. Already drinking at 1 pm, just like their mothers.

"Going now?" Ana asked, filing a towel. Y/n nodded.

"Wonderful, dinner will be waiting for you when you return" Ana said happily to the three girls.

"I do guess you two will be staying tonight?"

"Of course." Narcissa said with a grin, her black wavy hair tied into two pigtail braids.

Ana nods, winking at y/n, telling her have fun with a simple gesture, sending her on her way.

"We'll just apparate" She suggested, looping her arms through Narcissa and Y/n's once they stood outside the front door. The girls closed their eyes, imagining the large rocks surrounding the river Lucius and Y/n had found.

The trees sighed with the breeze, birds sung sweet symphonies as the girls began to lay on the warm rock cliffs that hung around the river, music humming through the static battery powered radio.

Narcissa began her rant about the importance of sunscreen, squeezing large amounts of the lotion into her hands, applying generously all over her arms. Y/n watched with a smile, shedding a few of her layers, as a loud holler called through the woods.

"Hello ladies!" Avery exclaimed, staggering slightly as he approached. A strong scent of marijuana lingered on their clothing. Y/n quickly eyes Narcissa, who mimicked herself lighting and smoking.

"You reek of weed." Y/n muttered quietly to Avery.

"I do?"

"Yes, actually you do. You all do."

"Whoops..."

"Yeah..." y/n began, looking at Tom who's sunken in bloodshot eyes answered all the questions that were floating through her mind.

"Whoops." Y/n stated, sarcasm laced into her tone.

"So, you're tolerant enough to do muggle drugs, yet muggles are earth's scum, no?" Y/n asked, placing her sunglasses on the bridge of her nose. Lucius appeared as if he were far out into the sky, paying no mind to the girls in front of him that pointed out the three male's blatant hypocrisy.

"I thought we came here to swim not to have an intervention." Avery responded,

"Whatever..." Narcissa muttered.

"Sorry mom." Avery sang-said to y/n before pulling his shirt off, sitting on y/n's beach towel. Y/n eyed Tom. Large dark circles, paler and skinnier than a few weeks. He looked unhealthy, still beautiful, but unhealthy.

Faded wine colored smudges remained on y/n's collar bones. Not noticeable to her friends, or anyone besides her. She hasn't told Marina or Narcissa about that night in her room. Tom wouldn't want her to, she knew that. She repeated that.

"Are we swimming, or what?" Marina asked

"You can go, i'm gonna lay out." y/n said, placing herself back onto her beach towel with ease. The group hurled together, albeit Tom, who stood near her, watching as the teenagers individually jumped into the deep blue, cold and refreshing water.

Y/n's eyes watched Tom's shoulders as they rose and sank with each inhale. How could he be so okay? She'd been worried, angry even at his lack of acknowledgment towards her existence, and yet here he was, standing in front of her with his back to her, watching their friends jump off a cliff.

Frankenstein lost it's appeal. The only thing that caught her attention was the quiet boy that stood wordlessly, seemingly in deep thought.

"Admiring?" Wait-

"What?" y/n asked after a second. Tom shook his head with a condescending smirk.

"My, my De Lune, you're lucky you're pretty. Would never let anyone else have the privilege to gawk at me like that."
