Abusive Four

Chap 32

I sit down on the coach and rub my sweaty palms on my knees. I'm ready for answers.

Shauna Sits down next to Sam.
"Wait so I can't eat breakfast" she whines.

I roll my eyes.
"I barely slept because of you, now tell me everything"

"Me too" Sam adds in.

"Fine" she huffs and then starts "Let me make it clear that sam DID NOT know that I was married at all"

She turns toward him
"Sorry by the way..again"

She sits back a little.
"I was 13. Being dauntless from the start, I was taught that Amity is too stupid or too soft. So one day after school I was walking home when I bumped shoulders with this little bundle of sugar" she points at Sam who blushes. "Anyways, I tried becoming threatening but Sam started to turn all Amity on me. I guess I was taken back because of his attitude and I suddenly grew to like him. He might have been the only person who treated me this nicely"

I glance at Sam who looks like he's remembering the memory and miserably trying to cover his grin.

"We started seeing each other every day after school in an old warehouse. On weekends I used to sneak out. We used to play games or talk. Later at the age of 14, we started dating. Of course it was forbidden since we were in different factions so we had to keep it a secret. Once we started dating, we made this plan further on. Basically, when I turn 16 I would choose Amity and leave Dauntless to live with Sam"

I tried to imagine Shauna wearing bright red and yellow instead of black.
I couldn't.

"It started to make sense you know, like we kept discussing it every day and each day we grew more in love. Then at 16, I met Zeke. I never noticed him before, not until he and Four pranked me. We has this rivalry between us, but I didn't know he liked me. After a few weeks I found him outside my door, and he kissed me. I fell in love with him and we started dating. Of course I started to cut back on my visits to the Warehouse but I managed to go and visit Sam"

My heart beats a little faster at Four's mention. Of course Four was Zeke's best friend. I tried to imagine what the three looked like. Four would definitely be the third wheel.

"So on the morning of the choosing ceremony I found a letter from Sam. It said he will meet me after the choosing ceremony at the warehouse before we head to Amity. But on the ceremony I chose Dauntless. I never saw Sam after that because I never went to the warehouse ever again. Of course I started to forget about him and focus on Zeke."

She takes a deep breath before continuing.

"Then, Zeke and I married and we had twins after the war, I never even thought about Sam until you came along. You needed a lawyer and he called me. I bet he didn't even know it was me in the first place. I was kind off a shock and after you left memories just came crashing back and I couldn't stop myself"

"But what about Zeke?" I ask

"Zeke has changed tris. I mean he isn't the cocky funny guy I loved once. He became too rough and he build a wall between me and him. So I didn't tell Sam I was married to Zeke because if I did I knew he would hate me for it. We started talking and we got over whelmed. So we both knew what we wanted and we ..did it"

"What's funny is that Zeke said the same thing about you" I say.

This brings her attention fully.
"What?"

"See he came over and said all these stuff of you becoming to attached to your work and then become further away from him."

"I never knew he felt that way" she says softly.

Suddenly I realize I was supporting Zeke.
"Yea whatever" I reply trying to take back my encouraging words about
him. I probably sound stupid.

"Well shauna your honestly a disgusting woman. So you just used me for your own needs." Sam sneers

Shauna for once, doesn't have anything to say and bites her lip.

"I'll be back at 3;00" she says and head out to the door.

I stare at Sam.

This is definitely going to be awkward.

___ SHAUNA P.O.V

I slam the car door and lean back in. I suddenly feel guilty. Of course I was the one who build the wall. I work from dawn till sun set. I almost never see the twins. And I cheated on my husband. But worst of all is the fact that I thought it was his fault.

I bite my lip nervously and dial his number. After a few rings I hear Zeke's voice.

"Hello shauna? Is that you?"

"Zeke I'm so sorry" and suddenly I break out into sobs.

"Shauna where are you? Are you hurt? I'm going out the door right now"

His concern made me feel even guilter.

"Yo Four Shauna is in trouble I gotta go"

I heard a muffled voice in the back ground. Probably Four.

"Shauna stay where you were"

For once I do as I'm told.
"I'm at Richwood street, house 325"

"Okay hold on"

"Zeke" I take a weak breath "could you get the twins with you?"

"Of course I'll do anything" he says softly.

I close the phone and fall back into more tears. I was a terrible person.

I wipe my face, and get out of the car. I knock on the door to find Sam.
"I thought you were coming back at 3?"

"I changed my mind could I come in"

Sam looks like he was about to protest but then Tris gestures me to come and he nods.
"What happened are you okay?" Tris says.

"Yea I'm fine just had an emotional break down I guess"

She nods but doesn't look convinced.

___TRIS P.O.V ( yes I change P.O.V's a lot this chapter 😂)

All three of us sat on the small coffee table playing cards.suddenly, the door bell rang Sam and I both exchange confused glances. Shauna though,was jumping out of her seat to the door.

We run after her. The door opens to reveal a panic looking Zeke carrying twins. And behind him comes Four.

Zeke runs placing the twins into Sam's hand and then he grabs Shauna by the shoulders, and began kissing her.

It was a stunned Sam carrying two babies, me, and a sheepish looking Four.

"Are you okay?"Zeke breaths out

"Yea we came as fast as we can" Four says.

I never really thought about Four's relationship with Shauna but it must be strong. Well, must have been.

"Come in" Shauna say. Sam couldn't even protest.

We sit back and I felt slightly uncomfortable. Why does Four always have to be there? Especially since I want to throw him in jail right now.

Shauna starts talking about Sam and what she has done. Midway, I see Four's eye flicker at me.

Suddenly, he gets up and gestures for me to follow him. I look into his eyes and slowly nod my head. Shauna and Zeke don't seem to notice, but Sam does.

He was about to get up when I hold up my hand.

"I'm going" I say , and for once I don't feel in danger at all. I have confidence.

Four walks and I follow him to my room. As I walk I notice my palms are sweaty again.
