Abusive Four

Chap 23

"Why would you not tell me this!"

I was startled by the anger Sam has, he's usually calm and collected

"Look Sam I've dealt with this before,I can't handle myself" I resure him
He looks at me straight into my eye

"No U won't because I'm putting a stop to this insanity"
I frown at him

"Please Tris, I want to help You don't deserve this just come to my house, we can get Jace and go please" he finally says

"Okay" I say after staring at his eyes

Once we get Jace the car ride is quite and it's not like anyone wants to say anything so we continue till we reach a nice moderate house

It has a wide glass window in the front where U can spot a living room filled with coke cans and chips

"What?" I say looking at the horrific mess
"Yea I don't live with my parents" he concludes

"Really why?" And my curiosity starts to tell me something, I know nothing about Sam, well not really a lot

"My parents are way to protective and their rules drive me crazy, I can't keep my door closed? Seriously I've had enough so I decided to move out"

I suddenly feel shy about asking him but I do it anyways
"Sam, do U mind if we get to know each other a little better? I mean U r a great person but I don't feel like I know a lot about U but if u don't thats completely -"
He cuts me off with a soft smile
"Of course"

basically Jace is now proven that he isn't very fond of Sam
Probably because of the fact he threw his mushed peas right on him and threw a fit of giggles

"What did I do wrong" Sam asks when Jace is finally asleep
His shirt is now no longer covered with chewed up peas but a band name on it

"Crossword puzzle? Seriously? That's a band name?" I laugh
"Oh come on please they had the #1 hit single in Japan go excuse yourself" he says

"Right" I say sarcastically

"So let's sit somewhere m'lady" he gestures toward the living room and I clean some chips off the coach so I can sit

I look at him and he starts
"Okay let me think, my full name is Samuel Liston and I Have 2 sisters and I like pizza" he finally says

I laugh and I look to see amusement filling his eyes
"C'mon your turn"

"Okay..I'm Beatrice prior and I'm the only member of my family so kinda a loner, and I was formerly abnegation and switched to Dauntless and I like cheese"

"Hey tris"Sam says with all seriousness "how did this start? Why can't I just go over to four and get some people we can just team up and hit him till he's left-"

"No!" I shriek panicking " don't Sam, four has....connections"

He looks at me confused and I continue on

"I found a text, it indicated that there was a disk, and it involved me, so I naturally knew it was dangerous" and as I begin to say the story I feel like a weight has been shifted off my shoulder

I continued on, about the disk, about Peter and still not understanding what happened to him, my brother, and how four took the disk

Sam looks at me for a long time, it's quite before he leans in and his hand starts finding its way to my hair pulling me closer to him

I felt eager, more than I have ever done in my entire life and when our lips attached themselves together tingles spread over my body

"U r not close enough" he whispers and pulls me closer so our bodies are connected

"Tris stay with me" he finally whispers after we break
"I-I can't he will catch us and I Don't want U to get hurt because of me"

"Please it will hurt me more to think U r with him, I'd rather be hurt a thousand times than to see him lay a hand on U " he says firmly but I can see the pain in his eyes

"I'll stay" I finally say softly

He pull me closer to him and kisses my forehead
"I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship" he says before I sleep

I smile and snuggle closer , and that night I slept like I've never slept before

"Why? Why is he like that?! This is my second shirt!" Sam complains and he stalks to his room to change his shirt

I look at Jace whose grinning, it shows of his new set of teeth
I smile and take the cloth to wipe the mess on his head

I take him and open the tv until sam walks in with a completely new shirt

"Are U kidding me? This is way worst" I say

He's wearing a bright neon orange shirt with the words "chick magnet" written in yellow and to top it all, there is a picture of a surfboard at the back

"Well I rarely do my laundry, this is the only shirt I had okay?! Besides I think the words truly describe me " he smiles and wiggles his eyebrows

I smile and peck his lips he quickly grasps me but I pull away and sigh

"Look, Four will know I'm here I can't do this I need to go back Sam" I look at his ready for an outburst

He looks at me wearily
"Please Tris U r killing me here"

"I'm saving U"

He looks at me
"I have an idea" he finally says

"What?"

"Pack up, we'll be visiting Four"

.......

The car ride had me anxious we reach the drab brown house and Sam squeezes me hand softly

I take Jace by his basket and take a deep breath

"Do u have the keys? " he whispers

I roll my eyes "of course I do"

I take my key and ever so slowly open the door, besides the creaking noise of the hinges, the house seems quite

My chest is beating rapidly and fear is probably visible on my face because sam hugs me but I ignore him

"Look we both will search the house until we find the disk, after we do U won't have to step into this jail at all" he says and softly kisses my forehead
"Okay?" He softly says, his lips still sending warmth into me

I nod and close my eyes
I'm fine.

I put jace near the stair steps and I've been searching wildly for the disk
It's not in its usual place in the drawer or my room

I go into the kitchen and check the drawers hoping that I could find it behind the Utensils

I search the bathrooms, a pretty awkward place to search, but we ran out of hope

I go next to jace whose eyes are drooping

"Where Is it?" I say desperately

I take one glance on Sam's face
"Sam are U okay? Sam? Sam!" I shout
He squeezes my shoulder tightly

I hear a deep chuckle behind me and I whiten

I quickly turn around to see a manically smiling four

Holding the gun , and then slowly directs it, right at Sam.
