Chapter 20: Rebuilding part 2

It was now Thursday and I got up early and ate breakfast. Then we all went to the house to work on it more. Mom, dad, and Tay were there to help. The guys were outside painting the house and us girls were in the house painting.

“Oh mom Esme, we forgot to pick out the stuff for the kitchen yesterday,” I told her.

“Well Jennifer, if you want me and you can go back to the hardware store and pick out the kitchen counters and stuff like that,” she told me.

“Okay lets tell the rest of the guys and then we will go,” I told her.

We were in the kitchen and we went back out into the living room.

“Hey guys, me and mom Esme are going back to the hardware store and we will be back soon,” I told them.

They told us okay and then we went and told the guys where me and mom were going. Edward came down from the ladder and gave me a hug and kiss. I told him that I love him and he told me the same. Then me and mom got into my car and left the house.

We got to the hardware store right at 9am and they just opened up and we went in. The guys that helped us yesterday were there and they told us good morning.

“Do you two young ladies need any help today?” one guy asked us.

“Not right now thank you but we will later,” mom told them and then they left us.

We headed to the paint isle again and I looked at mom.

“So mom, what color do you want the kitchen to be?” I asked her.

“Well what design will our kitchen be?” she asked me.

“Well I like the apple design,” I told her.

“Oh, I really love that design also. So we will have an apple kitchen,” she told me.

We picked out white paint for the walls and then we went to find stencils for us to use to make the apples and leaf designs. We found what we were looking for and then we went to the kitchen cabinet part of the store.

“Well lets see, what color do we want the cabinets to be?” I asked.

“How about a dark oak color. You think that will go good with white, red and green?” she asked me.

We looked at the cabinets and found what we were looking for and I took color paper up to them and the colors matched perfect.

“Okay mom, we have the colors now we need to pick out the cabinets themselves,” I told her.

We looked around and we found what we wanted. We then went to look for the sinks, refrigerator, stove, and other appliances that we needed for the kitchen. We looked around and we decided to go stainless steel on all the appliances. We found everything we needed plus some other small appliances that we needed. Then we found a kitchen aisle land that would look good in the middle of the kitchen. We got the guys and we showed them what we wanted and he wrote it down.

“If we pay for this stuff will you all be able to hold it till we are ready for it?”

They told us yes and then me and mom went up front to pay for the stuff. When we got up there one of the guys handed the cashier the paper and she ranged it up. She told us that it will be 25,000 dollars and mom gave her a credit card and it took.
