Chapter 4: Getting Better

I woke up late Thursday morning, I looked around and saw that Edward was laying on the couch with his eyes closed.

“Edward, are you sleeping?” I asked him with a smile and knowing he was not.

He looked at me with his gold eyes and smiled.

“No, I was just thinking of you,” he told me.

I smiled at him and then I looked at the clock and saw that it was 11am.

“Oh wow, I slept in a little bit didn't I?” I told him.

He got up and gave me a kiss on the forehead. I looked around and did not see my dad or Alice.

“Hey, where is my dad and Alice?” I asked Edward.

“Well your dad left a minute ago to go to the store and Alice is in the kitchen cooking you breakfast,” Edward told me.

“Oh okay, so what are we going to do today?” I asked him.

He smiled at me.

“Well, my dad called not to long ago and told me that you have physical therapy today at 1pm today at the hospital. I told your dad that I would take you and he told me okay,” Edward told me.

I did not like that idea at all going to physical therapy because I knew it will hurt a lot. Then Alice came into the living room and gave me my food; I ate every bit of it. I then smiled at Alice.

“For people that don't eat food, you sure can cook,” I told Alice.

She just laughed.

“Well, me and mom watch the food network. Jennifer, do you want to go to the park?” she asked me.

“Yeah I guess I need to see if I can sit in my chair and see how much it will hurt,” I told her.

Alice and Edward got me dressed for the park and the clothes I will need for the hospital. Edward then picked me up and put me in my chair. Then he pushed me outside and put me in his car; then we left for the park.

We got to the park in no time and it was a pretty day but if the sun was shinning it would be a beautiful day. Edward got me out of the car and put me in my chair.

“I would love it if the sun would shine,” I told them.

Edward and Alice looked at each other and then at me.

“Jennifer, if the sun was shinning then we would not be out in it,” Alice told me.

I thought about it for a moment and then it hit me. They are vampires meaning they will burn up and turn to ashes.

“I see, so if the sun is shinning you two will become a pile of ashes,” I told them.

They both busted out laughing and I blushed because I did not know what they were laughing at.

“No Jennifer, we will not turn into a pile of ashes. That is myth, one thing about us is if we go out in the sun we will sparkle,” she told me.

I had to let that sink in a minute and then I looked at them.

“You will sparkle? Y'all are going to have to show me that one day,” I told them.

Alice started to push me, we stopped in front a pond and no one was around. Alice picked me up out of my chair if I weighed as light as a feather than 110 pound girl. Edward sat down next to the pond and Alice sat me in his lap. It hurt a little bit but I could handle it.
