One day
I left with
A small girl.
We didn't know where to go,
But I'd promised I'd show her the world.
She said, "When I
Am older
I would like
To know my mother's name.
What was your sister's name?"
Some things you want to forget,
But your heart isn't ready to let them go yet.
I'm not ready to tell you yet;
But someday,
When we're older,
When I've healed,
I promise I'll show you the world;
And I'll tell you your mother's name
And you'll know my sister's name.
One day
We came here.
I'm older.
My girl is older, too.
We've learned a thing or two.
She says, "Who is
My father and my brother?
What was my mother's name?
Uncle, who is my family?"
I told her
She has no father
But then I told her who her father is.
Her brother and mother are dead,
And I can't yet say her name.
But someday,
When we're older,
When I've healed,
I promise I'll show you the world,
And I'll tell you your mother's name,
And you'll know my sister's name.
Now we're here.
We're older.
We've seen things.
We've learned a thing or two.
We know things quite a few.
Then we
We faced her father.
We called him by his name.
Some things have caused us pain.
But someday,
When we're older,
When I've healed,
I'll take you around the world;
And when we get home...
I'll tell you your mother's name
And you'll know my sister's name.
When I tell you my sister's name
Then you'll know your mother's name.
Yeah, I promise I'll show you the world
And when we get home...
I promise I'll tell you her name.
