YURI
"A party? I'm invited to your sister's birthday party?" Yuri asked while reading the invitation Sunwoo handed to her. "But I've only met her twice?"
"And during those two times she absolutely adored you." Sunwoo explains to her how she got an invitation. "Plus you're free to bring another guest."
She remembered first meeting Sunwoo's sister, Sara. She was hanging out at his place to study for an exam but then his sister suddenly visited. So instead of studying, she gossiped with her for the rest of the time. The second time was during holiday break when she visited their family house to spend time there. She got in a fight with Wooyoung that time because she couldn't be with him on New Year. His sister comforted her and they even baked cookies together.
"That's touching. I'll be there." Yuri smiled. "Does she know Wooyoung and I are over?"
He shook his head. "No I felt like it wasn't my place to say that." He replies to her question. After that, he stands up and grabs his bag to make his way to his next class. "You should start thinking about your plus one. Just so you wouldn't be too lonely in the party."
Yuri snorts. "I bet you got a date." He smirked at her and winked before walking away while waving.
She also walked towards her own class and sat in an empty seat. She couldn't stop reading the pink envelope in her hands, who could she possibly bring as a plus one? She could go alone but then Sunwoo had a point, she may be lonely in the party because her only friend there has a date. There was also another option, she could just not go to the party and call in sick. That would save her all the trouble of finding a plus one or having to deal with the loneliness.
From the corner of her eye, she saw someone sit next to her. She glanced at the person and saw it was Sim Jaeyun. He smiled at her to which she did the same.
"What am I going to do?" She mumbles, pushing her hair to the back.
"What's wrong?" Jake suddenly asked.
She glanced at him and smiled. "Just this party I'm invited in." She says, showing the pink envelope in her hand.
"Why? You don't want to go?" He asked. "Oh sorry, it's none of my business." He says when he realized what he was asking her.
She shook her head. "I want to go but at the same time I do. Don't worry, it's not like this is some personal problem." She assured him.
"Sorry couldn't help it. You really look intimidating." He chuckles. "And if you want to go, what's stopping you? You're not close with the celebrant?"
"I'll be out of place in the party and I don't have a friend to bring with me." She answers his question. "Sorry for bumming you out. But you did choose to ask me so I guess it's not really my fault." She shrugged which made Jake laugh.
"I have a great idea. How about you ask Jay? He wouldn't mind going with you plus you won't have to worry if your plus one can provide a formal attire on short notice. He has a whole wardrobe filled with formal clothes." Jake suggested.
How did I not consider before asking Jay? She wondered. "Then I guess I'll ask him later. Are you sure he won't mind accompanying me?"
He nods. "I'm sure." He said, making a thumbs up. She smiled at him before averting her gaze to her professor that had entered the room while they were talking.
Thinking about it, it didn't really seem so bad going with Jay. The one thing that bothered her was that they've known each other for a mere month. Are they in the part of their friendship where they could freely ask each other that kind of request? Wait a minute, we've been going on late night road trips together, surely I can ask him.
