YURI

The two of them immediately rushed inside the hospital after parking the car. Yuri looked at Jay who had a distressed expression on his face. Their hands remained interlocked as they stride towards where his mother was.

Yuri couldn't help but to share the same nervousness Jay was feeling. His mother had been so good to her even before she became his girlfriend. When Jay explained to her what was happening, she found it hard to take the information in. Opening the door to the room, she saw his mother laying on a bed while his father sat next to her. Both their eyes diverted to the couple who had just entered the room.

Letting go of Yuri's hand, he walked towards his mother. "Are you okay mom? What happened? Have you not been getting enough rest again?"

His mother smiled. "I'm fine. I'm just exhausted but I can manage." She then looked at Yuri whose eyes widened after they made eye contact. "I see you brought company."

"Here have a seat Yuri." His father offered her a seat and she made her way there, mumbling a thank you to his parents. "At this rate you have to start treatment again." He tells his wife.

Jay sighed. "You're going to be fine right mom?" He asked and she nods, keeping the comforting smile on her face.

"Jay, can we talk outside?" His father says and he glanced at Yuri first, as if he was asking if it was alright if he leaves her for awhile with his mother. She mouthed an 'it's fine' to him before he left the room with his father.

"The two of you are dressed up, did I disturb a date?" His mother suddenly asked.

Yuri immediately shook her head to answer her question. "You didn't disturb anything. We can just continue our date when you're all better, ma'am."

"Ma'am?" She laughed. "Just call me mom too. I really want you to comfortable with me Yuri."

She figured there was no use arguing with his mother so she agreed even though she found it awkward. "Alright... mom."

Her smile grew after hearing Yuri say those words to her. "I haven't said this to you but Jay wasn't really the very best version of himself before he met you. I'm happy though that he met someone like you, someone who accepts him despite his imperfections. You brought out the best version of Jay. Something even I couldn't do."

"Your son accepted me despite learning about my own imperfections. I wasn't at my very best too when I first met him but I'm glad that we could both bring out the best version of ourselves." Yuri says.

She grabbed Yuri's hand. "I guess you both really are made for each other." Jay entered the room with his father and his eyes softened when he saw his mother holding Yuri's hand. "Oh we were just having a girl to girl talk. Your girlfriend is a delight."

Jay approached Yuri and sat next to her. "Do you want me to bring you home now? It's late already, you must be tired."

She glanced first at his mother before answering Jay. "It's fine, you should go home now Yuri. Jay's right it's late already. You can visit tomorrow if you'd like."

Yuri nods and smiled at her genuinely. "I'll pray for your fast recovery." She said, standing up. "I'll be taking my leave now, bye." She bowed at his parents before the two of them exit the room. "Are you okay, Jay? You haven't spoken to me that much since you received the news." She grabs his hand as they walk.
