JAY
"Mom, are you sure you're okay with walking around like this? Are you not tired at all?" Jay worriedly asked his mother as they enter his apartment.
She raised her eyebrow and rolled her eyes . "You look down on your mother way too much Jay. I came here to invite you to dinner. Let's talk about what's been happening with you."
Jay placed his keys and phone on the table as he watched his mother scan his apartment. Thankfully he cleaned it yesterday otherwise he would've gotten a good scolding. It's been 3 days since his date with Yuri and ever since then, he's been visiting her everyday. He didn't meet her for the day because his mother was visiting and she was busy unpacking her clothes in her apartment.
"Your rose in a glass dome is very pretty. Did you buy it?" She said, admiring the gift Yuri gave him.
He shook his head. "It's a gift."
"Oh you have new picture frames. And is this a new girl?" She gasped as she picked up a frame. He glanced to what his mother was talking about and his eyes widened when he realized it was the picture Yuri and him took on his birthday. "You never told me you now have a woman in your life."
Jay nervously smiled. "She's Yuri and I'm currently courting her." He introduced Yuri to his mother.
Her smile grew. "She's very pretty, you should invite her for dinner. I would love to meet her."
"But-"
"Are you ashamed of her?" She raised her eyebrow and he immediately shook his head. "Then are you ashamed of your parents?"
He shook his head again. "I've only been courting her for a week, don't you think it's a bit too soon?" He didn't want to rush Yuri in any way possible so he was a bit reluctant about inviting her to dinner.
She chuckled. "If she's uncomfortable with it then it's fine but at least try inviting her." She said. "Can you describe her to me? Is she nice?"
Jay stifled a smile from appearing in his face. "She's one of the strongest woman I know that it makes me question whether I'll ever deserve her." He said, remembering her story.
After he heard about her past, his admiration for her grew even more. He couldn't believe how much she has experienced and she's only a year older than him. His understanding of Yuri continues to grow day by day.
"Jay, you're in love with Yuri." She smiled. He was taken back by what she said. He wasn't sure if it was the right time to say that he was in love with her. He has been convincing himself that he only liked Yuri, but he was more than aware it was starting to become something even bigger. "Taking your words into account, it makes me want to meet her more."
"I'll try to invite her, excuse me." He excused, standing up to go to his room and call Yuri. It didn't take her too long to pick up her phone. "Hello?"
"Hey! What's up?" She says from the other line.
"Are you free tonight?" He asked.
"Yeah. I'm almost done unpacking my clothes. Why?" She replied to his question.
"Well, my mother sort of invited you for dinner." He said which resulted to a long silence between them. "Hello? Are you still there?" He asked her to break the silence.
"Wait a minute, your mother wants to meet me? Is that what I'm hearing?" She said, finally speaking after staying silent for so long. "I-I don't know what to say."
