JAY

"Do you have any plans for your birthday?" Sunghoon asked after realizing what the date was in three days. "Should we throw a surprise party for you?" He jokes which made Jay laugh.

"Not really. I guess I could have dinner with my parents?" Jay shrugged as he continued to read his book. If he was honestly speaking, he actually forgot about his birthday. After everything he's been thinking about, it just slipped out of his mind. Sunghoon was the only one present in his apartment considering everyone was busy with their own business.

Sunghoon frowns after hearing his friend's response. "That's it? There's nothing you want to do?" He asked again.

Jay shook his head. He couldn't think of anything he wanted to do for his birthday. Last year he spent it with his friends on a trip. Right now he doesn't really think going on a trip is something he would like to do on his special day unless his friends wanted to.

"I really have no idea." He said, answering Sunghoon's question. "Do you have any suggestion?"

Sunghoon scoffs. "What kind of absurd question is that? It's your special day not mine. Plus you have time to figure out maybe you could come up with something in a short period of time." He said before standing up and stretching his arms. "I'll go now. I have plans. Text me if you come up with anything."

Jay waves at his friend as he watched him close the door behind him. He leaned on his chair as he rethinks about everything Sunghoon told him. But he was out of ideas. There was nothing interesting to do for his birthday aside from hanging out with his friends and having dinner with his family. Midway into his thoughts, his phone suddenly began ringing. When he realized it was Yuri calling him, he immediately presses answer and placed his phone on his ring.

"Hi! Did you see the text I sent you? Answer the survey now, badly need it!" Yuri said in a haste.

He raised his eyebrow, a snicker escaping his lips. He then suddenly thought of a great idea that could solve the problem he was facing earlier. "Alright I'll answer it on one condition." He said. "You have to answer my question."

"Okay then. As long as it isn't personal, I think I can answer anything." Yuri replied as if she didn't find their conversation a bit odd.

"Do you want to do anything?" He asked a simple question which created a deafening silence between them. "Like going on a trip. Riding a hot air balloon."

"That's an odd question but okay it's not personal. I want to go horseback riding or picking berries! Going out of town is just what I want." Yuri answered. "Why are you asking me these kind of things? Are you bored again and you're trying to figure out what to do?"

"That's another way to phrase it." Jay laughs. Her suggestion didn't sound so bad, he also has never experienced any of those and horseback riding seems fun. "Are you free in three days?"

"I don't know, probably. It's a weekend after all. Why?" Yuri asked.

"Want to go horseback riding with me?"

He was planning to ask his other friends later but since he was talking to Yuri now, he really wanted all his friends to be there and that includes her. It took Yuri quite a while to respond to his offer, probably still shocked about what he just asked her.

"Alright. I'll make time for you." She answers which sent a huge wave of relief to Jay who has been anxiously anticipating her reply. "I'm dropping this call now! Remember to answer my survey, okay? Bye bye!" She said.
