Shock gripped my expression as his taunting words cut through the air. He caught me, his eyes revealing a sense of betrayal,
unapologetic for his public revelation. In that moment,
I could sense the pain etched in his gaze, and the room fell into a hushed silence as his words hung in the air.
"Kook, she was avoiding you?," Jisoo chortled, breaking the uneasy stillness.
"How could she do that just because of Kevin? You've always been her best friend, and that won't change,"
Jennie affirmed.
Jungkook's inquiry echoed, demanding an explanation
. "Tell me, Y/N, what's going on? Tell me you didn't avoid me,"
he pressed.
"Kook, please, don't make this harder than it already is,"
I almost whispered, earning a mixture of intense looks. Jisoo's astonishment mirrored the unspoken tension
"I want a clear answer,"
he raised his voice slightly, his eyes a blend of anger and annoyance.
"Tell me," he urged, this time with a calm intensity.
Doe-eyed gazes bore into me, intensifying the pressure.
Jisoo's authoritative tone cut through the tension.
"Y/N, don't stay silent," she ordered, adding an intimate touch to the atmosphere.
Am I going to implicate Kevin? Should I admit that he warned me, and I succumbed to his warnings out of fear? I knew I was in the wrong, but I had to say something.
"Yes, I was avoiding him all this time,"
I muttered.
A heavy silence hung in the air, almost inaudible, broken only by Jungkook's chuckling.
"It was because-"
I stammered, desperately searching for an excuse
. "Because of Kevin,"
I blurted, and Jungkook completed my sentence, raising an eyebrow.
How did he know?
Does he know everything? His smile suggested he was onto something.
"He warned you, right?" he said, smiling. Panic rushed through me.
"Jungkook, we need to talk,"
I blurted out, desperation in my voice.
"What's going on, Y/N?"
Jisoo asked, sounding annoyed.
"Jennie, you knew about this?"
Jisoo questioned her, and Jennie shook her head in response.
The tension escalated, and my secrets were unraveling before my eyes.
I was feeling down and embarrassed.
Jungkook's eyes were looking at me with a feeling of betrayal and pity.
When he knew everything he should have just came to me to sort things.
But what he did was embarrass me infront of everyone.
What did he gain from this?
Jimin wore a frown, his face reflecting his attempt to comprehend the unfolding situation. Jennie appeared upset, while Jisoo exuded anger.
