My eyes widened in disbelief as Tae stepped out of the station, reinserting his earphones while mounting his bike, turning one last time.
Still processing the scene, a voice beside me interrupted my thoughts.
"Do you know him, sir?" The person inquired, pulling me back to reality.
"Not really," I replied, breaking away from my uncle to head straight to Tae's place.
Later,
As I rang the doorbell, Jihyo greeted me. "Oppa, you're back from school?"
"Yeah," I nodded, asking about Tae's whereabouts.
"He's in the shower," she informed as I moved toward the room.
"Jimin, have you had lunch?" His inquiry sliced through the air.
"What's up with you?" I interrogated, tension thickening.
"What's up with me?" he retorted, water cascading from his hair confusion on his face
"You know what I'm talking about," I declared, my voice crescendoing into a more ominous tone.
"Why are you shouting? Damn my ears" he emphasized, a shiver running down my spine.
"Why were you there?" I demanded, the atmosphere heating up.
"Why was I there where? Complete the damn sentence?" he provoked, locking eyes with me.
"At the police station!" I bellowed, sending a chill through the room. His smile waned.
"So, did they catch him, his father?" he asked, head lowered.
"Tae!" I shouted once more, the intensity in my voice echoing through the charged atmosphere...
"Why did you report him, knowing it was Y/n's-"
"Yah, I knew it was Y/n's father. I witnessed everything - her, her mother. I was there, saw it all with my own eyes. You don't understand the sickness in my gut," he cut me off abruptly.
"You saw everything?" I questioned, wide-eyed and bewildered, struggling to grasp where he witnessed the ordeal.
"Yes, today I went to her house to pick her up. I was outside, saw her father slap her so violently she crumpled to the ground," he recounted.
