I

let the middle-aged man go—his apologies fading into the background—because something else caught my attention.

Across the street, a tall, striking building stood proudly. It looked like a restaurant, and above it, a balcony opened out to the street.

People were gathered there—men and women dressed sharply in suits, sipping drinks, and engaged in deep conversation. They looked like high-ranking professionals, perhaps employees from some elite firm.

But my eyes locked on a single figure.

One man. Sitting calmly at the center.
Effortlessly elegant in a blue shirt and tie, his suit jacket draped casually over the chair behind him.

His presence was magnetic. He wasn’t just a part of the scene—he owned it.

I froze. My heart thudded violently.

No way.

My eyes refused to blink, too overwhelmed to lose even a second of the sight before me.

It was him.
Someone I hadn’t seen in years.
Someone I had missed in silence.
Someone I thought I had lost forever.

He stood up gracefully, shaking hands, smiling faintly at the people around him.
He looked older, sharper, more composed. He looked like the man he was always meant to be.

My lips parted before I could stop them.

"Oppa?" I whispered, breathless.

A thousand emotions surged through me—joy, confusion, anger, relief.
So many questions clawed at my chest.

How have you been?
Why didn’t you contact me?
Did you forget me… or were you protecting me?

Before logic could stop me, I was already moving.

I bolted across the street, narrowly dodging honking cars and stumbling pedestrians.
My eyes never left the building. My heart pounded with every step.

And then I was there—right in front of the restaurant’s entrance.

Couples walked past me, laughing. Women in heels carried sparkling drinks. Men in suits lounged under dim chandeliers. Everything about the place felt distant, expensive... and eerily unfamiliar.

But I didn’t care.
Because somewhere inside… my brother was waiting.

And I had to find him.

---

There were both stairs and a lift.

Take the lift—it’s faster.
My mind made the choice for me before I could overthink.

The elevator was packed. Mostly men in formalwear, their conversations buzzing around me like static.

Without another thought, I stepped in—shoulder brushing against stiff suits and heavy colognes.
