I came to a sudden stop as I collided with a solid figure.
My balance faltered, and I instinctively shut my eyes, bracing for the fall
But strong hands caught me by the waist, pulling me into a firm embrace.
That scent... I knew it. Masculine, familiar, grounding. It washed over me like a wave of comfort.
I opened my eyes slowly-
And there he was.
Kim Taehyung.
His eyes, the ones he always kept hidden from the world, now stared straight into mine.
He looked tense, troubled even, but as our gazes locked,
I saw his lips part in a soft exhale-like he'd just found what he didn't know he was looking for.
"Thank you,"
I choked out,
my voice trembling as tears spilled freely down my cheeks.
And without thinking, I stepped closer and wrapped my arms around him, burying myself in the security of his presence.
I held him tightly.
The sobs shook me from within, stealing my breath and leaving no strength to speak.
My body trembled against his, overwhelmed, undone.
He didn't move at first-his body frozen in place. Hesitant. Unsure. But I didn't care.
For that moment, I just needed him.
And then...
Reality crept in.
This isn't right.
Reluctantly, I stepped back, my chest heaving, heart racing.
"I'm s-sorry," I stammered, l
ooking away. "I'm so sorry..."
Taehyung's pov
"We almost got all the materials," I said to Lucas.
"Yes, now we ha-" he stopped
mid-sentence, looking around in confusion.
"Where's Y/N?" he asked,
bewildered.
His eyes scanned the crowd, hands gripping a bag tangled with the flowers she had picked earlier-now lying scattered on the stairs.
"She should be right here," I muttered,
my voice laced with concern.
I found myself standing in the middle of the bustling road, eyes darting in every direction.
