"You may want to sit!" The cop said while the detective wrapped up a phone call. I grumbled at him, still pissed off about the hospital thing. "Ms. Grant, there is something you should know about Adam," Kurtz said once off the phone. I hummed. "We were doing a background check on all your friends. While we were on Adam, we found something that you might relate to! Do you know anything about Adam's ex, Lexi Norton?" "Yes, Adam told me something about her dying. Never got into the details though," I remembered.

"Hey, babe! What are you looking at?" I asked Adam. He was lying on my bed scrolling through his phone. I climbed in next to him and saw pictures of him with another girl. "Who is that?" I asked. I don't mean to doubt him, but jealousy still crept up on me.

"Baby, you have nothing to worry about," Adam said when he felt the jealousy in my voice. "She was my ex. We were together for three years. But then..." Adam stopped. I whined, "Then what?" "She died. On the day of our fourth anniversary." He sniffled.  "Oh, I am sorry," I apologized. I didn't know! "I loved her. The day of our anniversary, I was going to propose," I widened my eyes. "When I was at the jewelers, picking up the ring, I got the news of her death," Adam finished and wept the tears off his face. I snuggled even closer to him. "It's ok. I am here," I comforted him.

"Thanks, Amy," Adam said and hugged me.

"Except, she didn't just die. She was murdered," Detective Kurtz corrected my information. No, no way! I thought. "I-it can be a coincidence, right?" I stuttered. It's just not possible!

"I would have considered it a coincidence if her death wouldn't have happened after four other murders. Every person having a connection to Lexi Norton," Kurtz sympathized.

We found something that you might relate to. Kurtz's words echoed through my brain as I stood there, frozen. Not even a whimper escaped my mouth. Adam couldn't be. He just can't- "But he is!" The cop finally said. I realized that I voiced my thoughts out loud, subconsciously. "How can you prove that these murders are committed by Adam?" I asked, pointing to the pictures of Gracy, Dylan, Lewis, and Macy. "We can't as of now. All we have is the tormented past of a potential killer. But you had to be warned. Grill, get the information of those four murders of Lexi Norton's friends. Also, get me a brief History of the girlfriend," Kurtz ordered. The cop, Grill, nodded and went out. The detective comforted me for some time before I decided to leave. I called a cab. Once I was settled in the backseat, I started crying. Adam helped me a lot. He was there for me through thick and thin. He tolerated every trauma and problem of my life. He just can't be the reason for the darkest time of my life. He just can't!

The cab stopped at the hospital and I was back in Harry's room. Once again, one look at Harry and I was on full breakdown. Adam wasn't there. Where was he? The question now worried me.

"Amy! What happened at the station? Why are you crying?" Harry asked concerned.
