*the morning before a fullmoon*
"Remus take it easy today" Said Sirius.
"Stop worrying Sirius" sighed Remus, "I'll be fine, especially with padfoot by my side" he whispered.
But Sirius did worry, what if he couldn't transform, what if the wolf didn't want another animal near him, what if...
His thoughts were interrupted by James rabbiting on about Lily.
"James, in the kindest way possible, shut the f*** up" shouted Peter.
James only got louder.
"And her beautiful green eyes sparkle in the sun..." James was interrupted by Sirius hitting him with the Langlock spell.
Everyone else sighed, it was a rare moment when the marauders could escape James' Lily Evans podcast.

Later, at the great hall for lunch, Remus was stuffing his face whilst reading, Peter was nicking James' sandwich, Sirius was worrying and James was trying more pick up lines, much to the Marauders and Lily's annoyance.
"Hey beautiful, do you know CPR cause you just took my breath away" said James. Lily groaned.
"No wonder the sky's grey, all the colour's in your eyes" James offered.
"Sky's blue idiot, my eyes are green" said Lily.
"Well speaking of your eyes..." But Lily walked over to Snivellous.
"I hate Snivellous " grumbled James.

*just before sunset*
Sirius and Remus walked under James' invisibility cloak to the Whomping Willow. Both blushing, they hardly got much alone time. "Hey Sirius, thanks ya know" said Remus.
"No problem Rem, if this can help you it means the world to me" said Sirius
The boys hurried on, they didn't want to be late. As they reached the hidden door the boys chatted about What Katy Did.
"But I still don't understand what she did, she seems like a normal girl" said Sirius.
Remus sighed "well she hasn't done the thing yet" honestly, Sirius could be so argumentative.

As they entered the Shrieking Shack Sirius transformed into padfoot. Remus sat down and waited a few minutes until, he went through a rather gruesome transformation.

At 7 the next morning both boys arrived back at the dormitory, one looking a bit battered and the other just tired. Lucky it was a Saturday.
James and Peter had left the dormitory empty for them, so the two boys could sleep, after Remus ate all the chocolate in a 20 mile radius.
At lunchtime the boys awoke and began to talk, but Remus was still very weak, so Sirius sung the song again

The wood pecker sighs,

His voice faded away as Remus fell asleep again. Sirius hugged the sandy haired boy close, and kissed the top of his head. Then he sat up and began to write.
