SYNOPSIS: Park Jiseol thought the universe had done her dirty enough when she did not only meet her high school debate rival in university, but they also joined the same club. Years pass by uneventfully, with Jiseol and Donghyuck's relationship remaining the same as it always has: Donghyuck being a menace and Jiseol holding up the mindset that "if you ignore it, it will go away".
Until both their lives seemingly fall apart at the same time. One thing leads to another and as Jiseol searches for a new place to live, Donghyuck searches for a roommate. To make things worse, the broadcasting club they're both editors of the school's online paper for is being sabotaged by an unknown culprit and both Jiseol and Donghyuck are tangled in the mess, leaving them with no choice but to work together to find out who did it.
As they learn to work and live together, they trudge through past trauma and help each other through the deepest of emotional pits; in their unlikely roommate, they find a friend. And when destiny says time is right, maybe they'll find even more.

AUTHOR'S REMARKS ABOUT THIS STORY: To be honest, I have zero idea where this story came from.
It just popped out of nowhere; I added some elements from Blind Date, switched some things up and now I'm making the puzzle pieces fit as I go. I guess in some ways I'm using Unlikely to challenge myself by using the same themes from Blind Date (enemies-to-lovers, them in the same club, Donghyuck being a super perfect overachiever in the soccer team) but also making sure that these two stories are as different as possible in terms of the storyline, the characters, the humor. Can't really say more because the story's still ongoing but I'm really putting in my all for Unlikely as if it's a novel I'm about to publish. My precious child.
YOU MAY LIKE THIS STORY IF YOU LIKE: - dramatic x brooding (Donghyuck being dramatic, OC is brooding) - Bubbline dynamics I guess? - flirty rivals/enemies that aren't so "enemies"-ish - character details (we have an OC who we know is grumpy as shit but loves to knit; we also know that Donghyuck's capable of throwing hands but also makes damn good cookies) - teeny tiny bit of minimal physical violence... towards bad people. And Donghyuck, by mistake - strong, healthy friendships - cute siblings - slow burn
BE CAREFUL OF: - the characters who drink a lot - name-calling(?????) - physical violence - verbal threats of physical violence (mostly from OC to Donghyuck; threats are not meaningful/serious) - tragic backstories (which include a broken family, horrible romantic relationships, bad friends) - Internet crime - very elaborate storyline - slow burn (I'm warning you)
