Ash Lawrence Ketchum was currently on his last training, the training of the knights. His first form was Shinobi, and it wasn't very hard for him. In fact, he was a prodigy at ninja style. Maybe it was his natural flexibility or his agility and speed, but he was very good at that.
As for Samurai, well, it was more about defense and endurance, which he already had. He was exceptionally strong for someone of his size, I mean he lifted a Larvitar for god's sake. It weighs about 72kg on average.
(DP- I am pretty sure that it was just plot armor, not his actual strength.
A- You mean the goofs like the one prime mentions?
DP- Yeah. Like in MI 5 when that asshole villain was trapped inside the glass and was shooting, there were no shells or casings ejected, it was all blanks.
Steve- Yeah, I remember watching it. I was around 9 at that time.
A- How did you watch it? You weren't in our world when it was released.
Steve- Plot armor, timeline shifts.
A- WAIT HOW THE FUCK ARE YOU HERE?

So, all in all, it was not very difficult for Ash to do both.
However, when it came to being a knight, Ash fell short. He just couldn't balance the speed and power. It would be either too much or too little. Ash had what it took, but lacked precision. And that is the reason he was stuck at the training.
As for his mastery over Aura and Multitype, once again, his precision, or more like the lack of it, got in the way.
"Arg! I just can't do it!" yelled Ash as he kicked the ground.
"Oh come on, you have done the Ninja training in Kalos and Samurai training really well, now you just need to balance the aspects and you'll be extremely strong.
"That's the thing, I just can't. And by the way, which one of these is the strongest?" asked Ash. He was always thinking about this. Was there a strong or weak art in this? Were all of these equally powerful?
"There is no one art stronger or weaker. These three are different aspects of the same thing. It came from one single art, practiced by the mother of the founder of these arts. It is the true ultimate aura wielding. Sadly, she died at an early age..." said Sir Aaron.
