"Welcome back students. I hope you all have enjoyed the lunch. Now we shall start the battles we have each year," said Sycamore.

"So the first match is between Gladion, the final Alolan elite four member and a student of our school, versus Siebold, the final Kalos elite four member. This is going to be a one on one battle. So students, please accompany me to the stadium," said Diantha.

"So Ash, how strong is this Gladion?" asked Calem.

"He is so strong that he almost defeated me," said Ash.

"Hey Ash," a voice came.

"Steven! What are you doing here?" asked Ash, as he gave Steven a bro hug, leaving Serena and Calem shocked.

"Well I along with Cynthia and Lance are here to see your battle," said Steven.

"Nice," said Ash.

"So, saving the world lately?" asked Steven.

"Nope. Last time was in Kalos," said Ash.

"Don't lie, I know UB stuff," said Steven.

"Well, it wasn't world-ending stuff," said Ash.

"Ohk," said Steven.

"Wait a minute what do you mean saving the world?" asked Calem.

"Oh well, it's just that Ash has died about seven times trying to save the world and somehow revived," said Steven.

"WHAT!" said Calem, while Serena turned white as chalk.

"I didn't die, I was just petrified," said Ash.

"How?" said Calem.

Steven then explained everything to them even after Ash's protests.

"... so meeting legendaries is a normal thing for Ash. In fact, more than half of the legendaries owe their life to him," said Steven.

Serena hugged Ash.

"You are so reckless Ash Ketchum!" said Serena.

"Hey, if I didn't do anything the world would have been destroyed," said Ash.

"Okay, now I need to go to the waiting area and prepare for my battle," said Ash.

"This is a one on one battle between Siebold and Gladion. Trainers, send out your pokemon," said the referee.

"Of course Siebold," said May and Dawn.

"No big bro, Gladion is gonna win and I can bet upon it," said Bonnie.

"Well, my friend told me about him," said Bonnie.

"Nice, but Siebold was so close to defeating Diantha. Only Tobias has been able to defeat him," said Brock.

"He too is going down today," said Bonnie.

"She is telling the truth you know," said Calem, as he enters the stand.

"What! You agree with her too?" asked Iris.

"Me too," said Serena.
