Fix the sky

Skye

She wakes up because the room is shaking badly, her heart racing at the tempo of the tremors. Sitting up, she takes a few deep breaths, trying to calm herself down as much as she can and with each deep breath, the tremors start to disappear. Once the room has stop shaking, her bedroom door opens, showing a worried Maria in the opening. Swallowing, Skye leans her back towards the headrest and pulls her legs towards her.

"You alright there Skye?"

She hears Maria ask, the door closing. She nods her head as an answer, to weak to speak properly. Feeling how Maria sits down beside her, Skye slowly lifts her head to look at the woman. From the look in her eyes, Skye knows that Maria doesn't believe in her nod about being alright. Quite frankly, she wouldn't have done it herself it had been the other way around.

"I take it, you were having a nightmare?"

Maria starts to ask, and Skye finds herself nodding her head once more.

"And I guess you do not want to talk about it or even try to go back to sleep?"

She nods once more, and she can hear how Maria hums beside her.

"Well, Natasha and Pepper is fixing up some of your comfort food and we can just stay here, watch a movie or something. I know we are not Leo and trust me, I'm very tempted to call your brother. But right now, we are all you got and as I said before, we will be here to help you, Skye."

Hearing this, Skye can feel how the taris are starting to come. The last thing she wants to do in this moment is to cry. She had cried enough when she hugged Leo earlier, but hearing everything Maria is telling her, she can't help the tears from falling. Releasing her legs, she leans forwards and hugs Maria. She can feel the former agent tense up a bit before returning the hug.

"It's alright Skye, you are with friends now. We got you."

Maria tells her in a low voice, and Skye tries hard not to full on cry. She knows what Maria tells her is the complete truth, she had seen it when she was here during her healing time. They had proven to time and time again that they care for her, why she's not completely sure. But Leo is the one that was with her when she broke down, he's the one that always made sure she's alright and he was the first one on her team that learned about her tumour.

"Do you want to move downstairs to watch something, or should I just go to Stark's room and kidnap his TV and place it in here?"

This question has Skye look up, looking at Maria and blinks a few times. If she would have thought anyone would make a suggestion like this it would be from either Natasha or Clint, Maria was the last person on that list, well maybe Pepper but they were close. Thinking about the offer, Skye starts to wounder what she wants.

On one hand she would love to meet with the rest of the team, to see them all again. But at the same time, she knows very well that they will start asking question's the moment she steps into the room, and she's not ready for that.

"Take Tony's TV."

She managed to get out, seeing the smile Maria gives her, she's quite sure Maria had just asked to be nice. She would have taken the TV even if she had said that she would want to go downstairs. Maria let's go of the hug and stands up, her smile now turning into a grin.

"Well then, you stay here, and I will be back in a few minutes, with the TV and snacks."

Maria tells her before leaving Skye alone once more. Moving back to the headboard once more, only to hear her phone vibrate on the bedside table. Reaching for it, she sees there are multiple missed calls from May, Coulson and Simmons, even a few messages from them. Ignoring all of that, her eyes lands on the latest message, the one that had after all pulled her attention towards her phone.

Leo have sent her a message, giving her an update on what is going down in the base. Apparently, the others had not realised she was gone until it was time to eat, May being the one to go and wake her up. According to Leo, May seemed to be somewhat calm about it all, he guesses she might know what is going on, the others had on the other hand been very worried and Coulson were apparently now on his way back. Leo also wrote that he's not sure yet if he will tell May about all of this or not, but he will keep her posted if he does.

Not sure what to answer him or even how to respond to it all, she sends him a thumbs up back before placing the phone away once more, just in time for Maria to return, caring the large TV, Natasha helping her on the other end. Looking at the large TV, Skye didn't expect it to be this big when she had agreed on this.

"Let's place it over here."

Maria tells Natasha as she leads them over to the side of the room, just as a third person enters her room. Looking to the side, her eyes lands on Pepper who is carrying food and drinks. The CEO gives her a small smile before placing the tray table, nodding her head before leaving the room once more. Looking at what Pepper has left her; she can hear Natasha and Maria argue about the TV.

"Alright, TV is up and running."

Maria says after a couple of minutes arguing with Natasha and the red-haired woman shrugs. Looking over at the two of them, Skye sees how Natasha walks over to her, ruffle her hair slightly before leaving her room, not saying a word. Skye looks after her, she can't help but to feel slightly surprised over her reaction.

"So, what do we want to watch?"

Maria asks, dropping herself down beside Skye once more.

"Maybe we should continue on OUAT?"

She asks, not sure she has any energy to start something new, and the two of them had started to watch the show when the Avenger's were out saving the world, or at least trying to save it. So, it would just be fitting that they continue the show together.

"OUAT it is!"

Maria answer with a smile, starting up the TV.
