I groaned as I sat up, my back aching. Where am I? I could feel worry building up inside me, and it got worse when I realised I was in what seemed to be a metal box. I heard another groan about half a metre away from me and I unwillingly let out a shriek, suprised. "Who - who's there?" I felt around beside me, trying to find something to protect myself with if this other person decided they didn't like me. "Who's asking?" The other person said, obviously a female. I felt panic bubble up again as I realised I had no idea what my name was, where I came from or anything else about me, but I could remember simple things, like basic maths and geography. "I asked first." I said back, trying to use confidence to hide my insecurity. "I - I'm not sure." The other girl whispered, obviously as scared as I was. "Hey, it's okay - I'm terrified too." I tried to calm her, and felt for her hand, finding it and giving it a sqeeze. I felt her squeeze back limply, and I pulled my hand back. "Do you -" I was cut off by a metal screech that made me cringe. "This thing - it's stopping." The girl stated the obvious. I was about to ask her if she knew where we were, knowing the answer would be no, but doors above us were opened wide, sunlight streaming in and temporarily blinding me.

I raised my hand to block out the sunlight, squinting as my eyes adjusted. I heard multiple cries of suprise coming from above as three boys jumped down into the contraption. "I got dibs!" Someone called.
"You can't get dibs!"

"Wait - there's two Greenies! Both girls!"

"Shut up, slintheads! Get back to work!" One of the boys, dark skinned, probably the leader of the thirty to forty boys peering down from above, yelled. Muttering, the boys dispersed, leaving us with the three down in the box with us. I scooted closer to the other girl, who I could see clearly now - she had strawberry-blonde hair, blue eyes and pale skin with freckles. She was quite pretty, even though she was wearing glasses like I was. Her hair was pulled back into a low ponytail. We both looked at each other before turning back to the three boys in front of us. The dark skinned one was standing at the back, arms crossed, watching the other two get closer. Me and the other girl were pressed against each other. One of the boys was looking at us curiously - he had golden hair that shone in the sun, a square jaw, and kind brown eyes. He was quite handsome. Mentally I slapped myself. Stop it Amy! This dude could be dangerous. Don't go thinking about them like that.

The last boy took a step closer to me, peering at me in a weird way. He had strange eyebrows, brown hair and a cranky look on his face. He took another step closer to me and knelt down, his face about twenty centimetres from mine. I frowned at him, and he tilted his head. I backed up as he reached out a hand. "Don't come any closer." I warned him in a deadly voice. He laughed, and reached out a hand to grab my shoulder. Quick as a flash, my fist rocketed upwards and cracked across his face, hitting him in the nose. He scooted backwards on him rear, giving me a deathly stare dripping with venom. "She - she -" The boy with the golden hair cut him off. "Well, she did warn you." He chuckled. I noticed he had an accent - British? - and it made me flush for some reason. "Hey, calm down Gally." He tried to sooth the boy I punched, who was fuming. The one named Gally had a bleeding nose from where I had got him. He stood up, going for me, and, for the second time, got hit. This time it was the girl beside me. "Get it through your thick head," I started. "Don't come closer." The other girl finished. We grinned at each other. It seemed we would get along quite well. The dark skinned one muffled a laugh. "I'm Alby. Welcome to the Glade." He said.
