so basically my crush( who obviously has no clue I like her) and I have matching luz x amity pfp for our google classroom accounts, and I know she's doing it in a friend way but like I'm crying inside

'I can't do this!'

Andrew paced his room, running his fingers through his already messed up hair. It's been almost a week since he told Jack and Oliver he was going to break up with Derek. He was planning on doing it days ago! However, he didn't know if he wanted to anymore. It wasn't that Andrew had fully forgiven him for all the crap Derek put him through, but, Derek was acting really nice. Like, nicer than he ever has in a while.

A few days ago, Derek knocked on Andrew's dorm door, crying. At first, Andrew was hesitant to let him in, but Derek begged and pleaded so Andrew broke. Even after everything, seeing Derek so hurt made him feel bad. Andrew let Derek cry on his shoulder for a little bit. Andrew felt a bit uncomfortable, and honestly, a bit scared. Derek apologized many times, saying he didn't know what he was thinking. Saying he wishes he could take it all back.

Andrew really, really didn't want to believe him. It took everything Andrew had to not give in and console Derek. Still, Andrew was hurt by Derek's actions, and a mere apology wasn't enough. After more tear-filled pleas and Andrew's resistance, Derek offered to take Andrew on a date. A date that Derek claimed would make up for everything.

And that was how Andrew found himself in Derek's car, driving with him to some fancy restaurant. Andrew adjusted the sleeves of his suit nervously, repeated glancing outside and at Derek, to make sure this wasn't some trick and that Derek was going to lead him to a secluded place in the woods to murder him.

After fifteen nervous minutes, Derek pulled up to this nice-looking restaurant and smiled at him. Derek stepped out of the car and opened the car door for Andrew, extending his hand for Andrew to take. Still suspicious, Andrew slowly took Derek's hand as he led the noirette boy into the restaurant.

As the waitress guided them to their table, Derek's hand never left his. As they sat down, Derek started to apologize again. "Andrew, again, I'm so sorry for everything." Derek looked down as tears began to form in his eyes. Tears that Andrew didn't know were real or not.

"I know I've been a huge jerk, and it was horrible of me to do, but you're just— just so important to me and I can't believe I-" Derek cut himself off, wiping his eyes. "Sorry, I don't want to disturb anyone here by crying," Derek sniffed, looking uncharacteristically down. "It- It's fine, Derek," Andrew smiled lightly.

'Maybe Derek really has changed!' Andrew smiled at the thought, being able to happily date Derek without being scared. "Do- do you think... we can start over, baby?" Derek asked, using his napkin to wipe his eyes again. Andrew wanted to say no. He so desperately wanted to decline, but he didn't. He trusts Derek right now. He knows it's not the smartest idea to trust him especially after... everything... but Derek really seems like he's changed. Inwardly, he's screaming at himself to walk out, to not believe him again, but he couldn't. He wasn't ready to break up, and now Derek changed for the better and he finally feels like his life could be back to normal.

"I have to go to the bathroom, real quick," Andrew said, smiling as he got out of his seat. "Wait!" Derek called, grabbing Andrew's arm, pulling him down to kiss him. "I love you," He smiled, and when Andrew searched his eyes for dishonesty, he saw none. Andrew smiled faltered slightly at the kiss, but Andrew didn't have the slightest clue as to why.

Quickly, he whipped out his phone, going to his group chat with Oliver and Jack. 'Guys! I Don't need to break up with him anymore!' He typed, locking himself in a stall, awaiting a reply. 'You finally did it????' Jack typed, just as Oliver typed, 'Finally!!' Andrew bit his lip to hide a small smile. Something about talking to, even texting, his friends made him happy.

'Well... about that...' Andrew quickly typed back. He really hoped Jack and Oliver understood why he stayed with Derek. Oliver typed, 'About what? What else could you have meant lol?" Jack took a moment longer to reply. 'dude. you didn't.' Andrew swallowed, already sensing Jack had figured out what he meant. 'Andrew! You said you were going to break up with him! Not forgive him!!!!' Jack typed back before Oliver replied, 'You forgave him????? How???' Andrew's stomach clenched. 'Guy's, he's changed. He told me. I love him.'

Oliver and Jack saw the message but didn't respond, leaving Andrew on read for the rest of the night. Why couldn't they see Andrew was happy? He finally got what he wanted for so long, him and Derek to be happy together.

But, why did it feel... wrong?

Do you trust Derek? Or do you think he's just tricking Andrew again?
