It was a usual day for Sunny. He sat in his yard with his best friend Basil, it was quiet before Sunny let out a sigh. "You okay Sunny?" Basil asked, a look of worry plastered on his face. Sunny didn't say a word. Talking to people, let alone seeing his friend so worried about him, just made him feel worse. The blonde boy just inched closer to the raven-haired boy, about to wrap his arms around Sunny to comfort him. But suddenly, Aubrey wandered into the yard. Plopping right down by Sunny. Basil moved away out of pure anxiety, with Aubrey knowing what happened he just scared Basil a lot more than usual. They all sat quietly for a long while before Basil walked away. After that, it took longer to break the silence of the two lovers.  Although after what seemed like ages, Aubrey spoke up, "Sunny. Can I talk to you about uh, just everything I guess?" She awkwardly laughed and looked at the boy next to her. Sunny couldn't help but just nod, after all, everyone's pain was caused by his actions. He. Was. The. Screw-up. Aubrey looked at him "Well...Sunny. I think I like someone else. I think it was all my comphet talking, ya know? I like Kim, she's always been there for me when you weren't and I dunno...I just love her man. So um, what I'm saying is I think we should see other people". Sunny looked down at his lap, he can admit he wasn't there for Aubrey when she needed it...but he was still coping. Plus they weren't even together then. He finally spoke up "N-No. I get it Aubs. I really get it. I hope you two are happy." Sunny mustered up the biggest smile he could before the pink-haired lady made eye contact with him once again, "Thank's Sunny, there's plenty of fish in the sea, man. But I should get going I promised Kim I'd hang out with her and all. See ya later?" Aubrey stood up and headed out of the yard. "Yeah. See ya, Aubrey." Sunny replied, but she didn't hear.

It wasn't long till Sunny burst into tears and booked it inside and right into bed. Ever since he and Basil had gotten out of the hospital and settled back into the friend group everything just felt like a big chore for him. Talking to all of his friends used to be fun and happy. Now it's all gloomy. His old role as the therapist friend had been back too. Hearing about everyone's romance problems and all just exhausted him, he was going through his own stuff still too. Despite that, he kept up with all their problems. It was all his fault anyway. If he hadn't screwed up with Mari maybe everyone would be happy. Maybe dad would still be there Maybe...maybe he'd be happy. Sunny just laid there helplessly. He never bothered talking about his feelings. Whenever he did it was always no response or being flooded with everyone else's problems and difficulties. After a while of just thinking about it and drowning in this pool of unexpressed emotions, Sunny just fell asleep. It all made him stressed and sleep was one of the biggest escapes he could think of. Everything was okay in his dreams. Sometimes, he wishes all the dreams would be real once more.

After sleeping all afternoon, there was a sudden knocking at the door. It startled Sunny and of course, woke him up. He sat on the edge of the bed a moment before taking a deep breath and putting on the biggest smile he could. And thus, he walked to the door and opened it. Standing right there in the doorway...Kel.  Sunny smiled and looked up at the tall boy, suddenly feeling a big weight on his chest, was this going to be another 'Sunny. I need to talk to you.' moment? Only time could tell. Kel broke Sunny's train of thought suddenly by simply stating "Ah. Hey Sunny...I uh. Your mom told me what happened with Aubrey. So I thought I'd come on over with some goodies and maybe to uh. Hang out?". Something about Kel saying that just cleared Sunny's head and made him genuinely smile. "Uh...Yeah. Thank you, Kel. I'd actually really like that." The raven-haired boy smiled at the tall young man in front of him. He stepped aside to let Kel in. Kel set down a basket full of candy and snacks and what seemed to be a movie, once it was all put down Kel embraced Sunny in a hug. "You look like you need a hug. It's gonna be okay man. Things happen. And it may not get better for a while but I'll be right here by your side...For as long as you need it"

"that may be a while." Sunny laughed to himself

"I'm willing to be here that long."
