Chapter 10: Guilt.

It had been weeks since the incident that outlined the boys two futures. The bulling of the two boys contined with no sign of ever stopping but at least it started slowing down the more everyone realized how happy the two were. Kel's basketball team was especially supportive, making sure Sunny would be able to attend games and practices to cheer his love. Sunny even started talking to Aubrey and Basil more too!! In fact, he planned on hanging out with Kel, Aubrey and Kim for a casual hangout, although the two boys were 100% sure it was just a double date.

And within it all, there was always one phrase, Mari would have been so proud of you. It hit Sunny hard every time it was said but it felt nice. Because deep down. He knew she was proud, and so was Hero. But yet, talk of Mari always hit hard. Especially nights like that night. And it all started with something so simple....

It was early on a Saturday evening. For the most part Sunny had spent his day cooped up in Basils house with him, playing animal crossing to pass the time. "...Hey Basillll? You got any hardwood on your island?" Sunny very suddenly asked as he even leaned over to see what Basil was doing. The whole sudden talking scared basil as the blonde boy jumped up "O-Oh yeah! I do! I still have to get some together thoug-" Basil's thought was suddenly disturbed by the alarm on Sunny's phone. "Ah! Sorry Basil! Time seemed to have gone by fast today... I gotta go to Kels game alright?" Sunny was quick to get up and start getting his things together after that statement and of course, Basils happy little nod. The garden then got back to his game while his friend left off to the game...

After a while of walking to school Sunny payed for his ticket (that he got a 25% discount on may I add, perks of being a great players boyfriend!) And walked on in. The room was a bit loud, this always kinda overwhelmed Sunny as loud noises really reminded him of the sound of Mar- "Honey Sunnyyyy! Your prince charming has come to visit you before his big game!!" Kel quicky came and swooped Sunny off of his feet, both figuratively and literally. The Brown haired boy now had orange tips in his hair and... Well sunny loved it. Sunny loved him!

The two snuggled up in the seat a bit before the game. As of lately that was Kel's good luck, and of course, Sunny's favorite things about the games. But, for Sunny the cuddling felt as it ended right as it started, the feeling of warmth leaving his side and going off to play basketball. It started out amazing too, Kel scoring the schools team a few points and overall doing well. But the away team seemed to be catching up significantly as well. Sports wasn't Sunny's strong point but it was clear at least something was making the team lose that day. Especially considering- oh.

The sudden sound of someone hitting wood floor scared Sunny. That specific noise scared Sunny. So he looked up. He looked around and tried to figure out who fell and right there in front of him was his boyfriend. Holding his nose a bit as the dryness of the school gym and the constant motion of falling gave him a nose bleed. Something so simple made Sunny panic and get down to Kel's side...

Everything after that already felt blurry for the two. But the next thing Sunny remembers is sitting in the nurses office as the nurse cleaned Kel up. It was something so simple but Sunny was just not having it. He was crying, even though he knew his dear was alright...After a while Kel sat by Sunny. Waiting for the brunette's mom to come get them. "Hey. I'm okay. You don't need to worry-" but that's the thing. He needed to worry. Because the last time it was a big thud like that then someone he loves getting hurt it was her. It was Mari at the bottom of the stairs. And he couldn't help but let his mind slip right back to that night. Right back to that broken violin and pure rage. And well. It was quick for Kel to figure out what had his boyfriend so much distress.

The ride home was more comforting then expected. Dispite it being a ten minute drive of course. And as soon as they got to the brunette's house, Sunny was dragged up to Kel and Hero's shared room. Hero was out at collage again so it was just the two. The two boys sitting in bed. Kel was quick to bring his hands up to wipe some tears away. No words even had to be said for the two boys to cling to one and other and understand. Understand the distress felt by the raven and the worry felt by the brunette. The rest of the night was a flash of cuddles. Holding each others faces and hugging close till there was a sense of calm comfort.

Yet. It still lingered

Sunny! You don't understand! It NEEDS to be perfect. YOU NEED to be perfect!
