Jet starred emotionless at the pair before him, then glanced at the girl beside him.
"You should get out of here too" she ordered.
"You and I both know that you can't fight them both on your own, Amy" countered Jet.
"Enough talk" Adam grunted, slashing at Jet, who blocked with Purpura.
"Does it look like we were talking to you?" Jet growled, punching Adam in the face.
The blow cracked his mask.
"M-my mask" he cried.
When it began to split in half, he jumped away. Jet looked over at Neo, who looked at the ground, then teleported away.
"What the hell were they doing attacking a military base?" Amy asked.
"This is where they were holding Roman" replied Jet, sheathing his sword.
"Torchwick!?" Amy questioned.
"Yes"
"Damn" she growled, removing her wig and revealing her silver and purple hair and her dog ears.
"Why do you insist on wearing that wig?"
"Why do you insist on hiding your tail?"
Jet wordlessly teleported away. He was on a rooftop overlooking the city.
A run in with the White Fang he thought perfect.
He sat silently gazing out at the expansive metropolis. He was there for what seemed like hours, watching the afternoon light set the city ablaze.
"You can come out, you know" Jet said to the person silently watching him "you of all people know I won't hurt you."
She stepped out from the shadows, a sad look in her heterochromial eyes. It killed Jet to see her like this.
"It's been a while" he said with a sad smile "Neo."
She looked him up and down. "I know" said Jet "I've grown these past few years." She refused to meet his gaze.
"What's wrong?" He said taking a step foward. Neo stepped back, causing Jet to freeze. Her eyes met his and he understood.
It was strange, ever since they were kids Jet could understand what Neo was feeling just by being in her presence. She didn't have to speak when she wanted to tell him what she was thinking.
"Neo, just because we're not on the same side anymore it doesn't mean I care about you or Roman any less" he said.
She continued to stare.
"I know" he sighed, bringing a hand over his eyes "Amy's just a little eccentric."
He was getting upset, but did his best not to show it. He felt her small arms wrap around his mid-torso, and her face bury itself in his chest. He welcomed the familiar feeling of her touch, and put his arms around her.
"Are you having trouble with your voice again?"
She nodded
Suddenly they were on a hillside, Jet had teleported them. Neo looked around in shock, then back up at Jet, a huge smile on her face and her eyes filled with joy.
"I know, this is your favorite spot"
She spun around, taking in all the details. This is where they would come to watch the sun set when they were children. Back then, the hills were only coated with dry, yellow grass. Now, the rolling hills were alive with lush green grass and patches of flowers. The hills rolled into a treeline on the horizon, over which the sun was coming to a pink and orange set. Neo spun back around and hugged him tightly wrapping her arms around his neck. Jet lost his balance and fell back onto the grass. Neo nuzzled into Jet's neck. As always, Jet knew what she was feeling, not only because of their special bond, but also because he felt the same; joy and nostalgia.
"I've missed this......I've missed you so much"
Neo nodded, a way of saying "yeah, me too." She looked at Jet longingly. Jet knew what she wanted and blushed.
"Same song as normal?"
She nodded, then settled in comfortably, eagerly listening. Jet took a deep breath, and began to gently sing Neo's favorite song:

He held her tighter.

She kissed his cheek, making him blush harder.

"I've missed hearing you sing" Neo whispered, surprising Jet.
"Don't strain yourself" Jet said, becoming worried.
She put a finger to his lips, silencing him. She moved her hand to his cheek, wordlessly saying "I'll be fine, but thank you for worrying."
She gazed into his violet eyes for a long time, silently speaking to him. Soon the sun set and the moon and stars had replaced it.
Neo gave Jet a look of sadness: "I have to go, before the White Fang notices I'm gone."
She got up and began to walk away, but stopped. She looked back at Jet with worry and curiosity.
"We can see each other again" assured Jet "I'll meet you here tomorrow at noon."
Neo smiled and nodded. Jet turned to leave, but there was a tug on his sleeve. He turned back around and was pulled down to Neo's level, their lips meeting. Jet was surprised, but elated as well. He closed his eyes and lost himself in sea of emotion.
I've missed this too he thought.
They were breathless when they pulled away. He pulled her in to a gentle hug. Jet was overflowing with glee, because after three years apart she still felt the same as Jet.
"I've missed you so much" Jet said, a tear rolling down his cheek.
Neo took a step back, then another, then another. She waved: "Bye Jet, I'll see you tomorrow."
"I'll see you tomorrow too" said Jet. With that, Neo disappeared. Jet let out a happy sigh, then teleported to the hospital.
