Word had got around about the auditions for the band. We decided to call the band Catastrophe. It wasn't very interesting or anything, but I liked it and everyone else seemed to like it also.
It was around 10 am and auditions has just started. One of the first few people to come in was a guy named Mason. He's 16 and he plays bass. He played a BVB song, Fallen Angels. He was actually really good and the other guys seemed impressed.
"I think that's one of the best covers I've actually seen of one of our songs" Jinxx spoke. The rest of the band agreed, so I guess we have a bass player.
"Thank you all so much, I've been waiting to get a gig for a while. Haven't been anyone's style really" he said, taking a seat over in the corner of the room.
"Well, I'm glad that we accepted you then." I shot him a small smile which he returned.
A few people later and another guy sparked my interest. His name was Hunter and he played drums.
"How long have you been playing?" Jake asked him, curious.
"Since I was about 8 or so. But nine years of practice has done me well." He chuckled.
"Whenever you're ready" Ash said.
He played a drum routine from something he'd done with his school, and I was really impressed. By the look on CC's face he was too.
"That was fucking amazing!" CC exclaimed. "You have to let him in!"
And that's what I did.
"Welcome aboard." I said. He said thank you and took a seat over near Mason.
Then, a girl with bright green hair walked in with a guitar.
"Hi, I'm Mackenzie. I'm 15 and I play guitar. Love your band, by the way." That made my dad laugh. I'd started to call him dad recently, because that's what he is. My dad.
"Whenever you're ready." I smiled.
She played part of the song "Lived A Lie" by You Me At Six. That's one of my favourite bands! Plus she did really well. And that was it. I had a band! A real band. I couldn't believe it.
Everything was over and done with and we went back to our house for our first practice. Tour wasn't for another month so we had time to pick songs and practice. I cannot believe this is all happening. And I had to give it all to my Dad and my uncles as I liked to call them. Without them I'd still be on the home only dreaming of a lifestyle like this. I can't wait to see where Catastrophe will go. But I'm totally ready for it, maybe.
