Slowly things for the twins were getting back to normal as they started to go back to school and attend practice even if they couldn't take part in the actual practice but instead heading to the gym in the school to work on their strength on the different pieces of equipment or they would watch the team practicing especially Alex since it meant she could work on her skills as a point guard. However not everything was returning back to normal as their mom still refused to let them see their uncle and continued to praise their biological father due to their different roles in the accident despite how much they protested. Today was Alex's first day back at practice as the doctor said that her wound on her stomach had somewhat healed but would be tender now and then as would her wrist causing Lucas to be grumpier since he couldn't play just yet due to his shoulder. Alex was currently walking to school since her bike had a flat tire as she texted AJ to ask him to come and pick up as she listened to music until her peaceful moment was interrupted by a tooting horn

" hey, you okay?" Dan said stopping next to her as he worried that something had happened to her after he had spotted her waiting with the bike instead of riding as Alex looked behind her to see if he was talking to someone else
" oh me? I'm fine, I just got a flat tire. It happens but I don't have time to fix it if I want to be on time for school" Alex said sounding a little flat herself as she resented having to make the effort to talk to Dan
" why don't you get in? I can give you a lift to school" Dan said getting out of the car as he noticed that she was carrying dusty pink gym bag and her green school bag as he realised she must be joining practice again
" no, I'm fine. AJ is coming to pick me up on his way to school and anyway I can walk. I don't need your help" Alex said making sure that there was plenty of distance between her and her biological father
" well you definitely needed my help that night, Alexandra" Dan said reminding her that he had recused her and taken her to the hospital along with Lucas before giving permission for their surgeries
" oh I don't know. I still think if you left me long enough then I might have figured a way to do it without you. I mean I've done everything else in my life so far without you" Alex said reminding him that he had abandoned them all her life
" that wasn't my choice" Dan said causing Alex to scoff and throw her bike down along with her bags before taking closer to him as she suddenly saw his words as a challenge to go head to head with her
" well you damn well didn't do anything to change it, we've lived in the same town my whole life and every day you chose to ignore us. Anyway I didn't ask you to rescue me" Alex said letting her anger get the better of her
" you were unconscious! It's not like I could have woken you up and asked you about it. Anyway you should be thanking me, if it wasn't for me then you and Lucas would be dead" Dan said shouting at her
