Chapter 22: the game that plays us
As the first playoff game for the ravens got closer and closer, the sessions with both Dan and Nathan seemed to get more intense if they were silently and unknowingly competing with each other. It seemed like Alex's day consisted of running, working out, practices while trying to squeeze school and her homework since she knew she couldn't let her schoolwork suffer despite little time amount of time that she had to fit in all since there didn't seem to be enough hours in the day. The days before the game seemed to pass by in a blur of events and a mass emotions as Alex couldn't help but think about how difficult things had been since the moment that she found out that Lucas would be moving to Charleston with Keith or rather the moment that AJ overheard Lucas asking her to go with him. She remembered that in moment how she felt like she being torn apart by the two people she loved most in her life as she looked between them, unsure of how to tread these trouble waters and what to say to them both.

^Alex's 1st outfit^
" Alex, what's going on? You're moving to Charleston?" AJ said coming down the stairs causing him to hear the last part of his girlfriend's conversation with her brother and mother as he zoned in on Alex
" I don't know yet, I... I..." Alex said stumbling over her word as her brain seemed to have failed her as she could barely keep up with what was happening as she couldn't process what was going on
" why don't I give you some time to think it over, then?" AJ said before walking away from them as he tried how hurt and confused he felt about this sudden new discovery about her possibly moving away
" AJ, wait... please, let me explain" Alex said running after AJ as they headed outside, although she had no idea how to explain what just happened as she looked back to see Lucas watching them
" explain what? That you might be moving away and that we'll probably never see each other again?" He said knowing that he should be used to people leaving him and not wanting him as he thought of his parents
" I haven't decided anything yet. Lucas literally just told me that he was going to Charleston, I didn't know" Alex said sounding a little frantic as she didn't like how things were spiralling out of control so fast
" that makes two of us then" AJ said walking away as he head back to his red truck leaving Alex alone in the street as she scrambled to try and think about how things had went down hill so fast for them
However Alex didn't have time to dwell on the past few days as she sat in the locker room with the other players of the team dressed in their uniforms as Dan attempted to give them a pre game talk causing her focus to shift onto him for the time being.
