Chapter 2: the places you have come to fear the most
It's been a week since Alex and Lucas had joined the varsity basketball team at Tree Hill high and a week since they had beaten their half brother, Nathan, as part of a bet he had made with Lucas for his place on the team since everyone had seen Lucas as a threat to Nathan's reign as the star player on the team while they simply saw Alex as an add on to Lucas or as a part of the school trying to be more equal towards all genders rather than assuming she was actually a good ball player. Tonight also marked their first game on the team, something they had been practicing for all week in the gym both with the team and with Whitey. Alex knew that no one had any really expectations for her when it came to her playing the game except for maybe Whitey, her mom and her uncle Keith and she knew that while that should be a comfort to her as well as would allow her to be more free. It only meant that she had more to prove, which was a feeling that she shared with her twin as they tried to relax a little by playing baseball at the River Court with their friends before game. Alex wore a pair of grey slouched sweats, a loose white long sleeved T-shirt over her blue sports bra and a black slip on sneakers as well as already had her done for the game in two French braids before her hair was placed into a ponytail with added addition of a royal blue ribbon.

" a couple more shots, guys. Come on, let's go!" Mouth said getting a little impatient to get to the first game that Lucas and Alex would get to play since him and Jimmy would unofficially announce the game
" Luke, Alex, what up dawg? Check this out.... Luke, you shoot this one. And it's just like that, huh? What about you, Alex? Let's see what you got...Ahh!" Skills said trying to get the twins's head in the game
" Skills, we get it... your whole confidence boost thing is a little obvious but appreciated" Alex said as they all knew that there was a lot riding on their first game since they really needed to prove themselves
" Come on, lets move" Mouth said as he held up Alex's rose pink gym back that held everything she needed for the game tonight as he wanted to the gym as soon as to get a good seat to commentate
" Time to go, baby" Skills said as he checked his own watch to see that it was now game time, something that they were all waiting for since they couldn't wait to see their best friends play
" Six-thirty, guys!" Jimmy said as everyone around the twins began to get excited by the fact that the game was getting closer while the twins simply seemed to get more nervous about their first game
" Oh come on guys, you don't gotta come. It's just a game" Lucas said to his friends since their little gang wasn't exactly the type of people to go school events or people that felt school spirit and pride
" Right, Whitey asked you and Alex to play on the team making her the first female Raven" Skills said thinking about how a big a deal that Whitey himself asked them to play instead it going through tryouts
