Hawk Moth shifted through all the negative emotions in the surrounding area he could find. He needed to choose someone perfect. Someone he didn't need to thoroughly convince to do his bidding. Someone he could easily manipulate.

His thoughts landed on a promising candidate. Disgust. Anger. Jealousy.

Perfect. His plan was starting to come together.

Marinette woke up in a cold sweat from another strange dream. A desecrated Paris, and so many screams. It looked like the world was being ripped apart.

She kicked the covers off and scrambled around the room. "I'm late again."

Tikki shrugged. "I tried to wake you up." Marinette was a very heavy sleeper. She frantically got ready as Tikki shook her head and watched her.

Marinette flew out the front door once again. She seemed to be sleeping through her alarm clock more often lately.

It had been a week since Nino admitted his crush to Marinette and Félix. Marinette had tried to act as normal as possible and luckily Alya just assumed she was acting weird because of her crush on Félix.

Marinette tried to sneak into class without Mrs. Bustier noticing.

"So nice of you to join us, Marinette," Mrs. Bustier called out.

Marinette laughed awkwardly and the lesson resumed. The nightmares had been more frequent and she wasn't getting her usual night's sleep. She willed her eyes to stay open and listen to the lesson.

Alya leaned over and whispered to her friend. "Marinette, are you okay?"

Marinette rubbed her eyes. "Just not sleeping well lately."

Alya placed a comforting hand on Marinette's shoulder.

Félix turned to Marinette after their teacher dismissed them. "When do you want to work on the project again?"

She hesitated. The mansion he called home was the last place she wanted to go right now. "Maybe tomorrow night? I'm busy tonight."

"Okay, sounds good." Félix stood up to leave.

Nino jumped up and hooked his arm around Félix's shoulders. "Félix! Sounds like you're free tonight. Do you want to hang out?"

Félix slipped out of Nino's embrace. "Sorry Nino, I'm sure my father would never allow that." He left before Nino could protest.

Nino sighed. "I'm starting to think he doesn't like me."

Marinette patted him on the shoulder. "I met his father. I don't think he's lying, but I know he can be a little blunt about it." She made a note to mention it to Félix... tactfully.

"Nino is right! Félix doesn't need to hang out with the likes of you!" Chloé's shrill voice came from behind.

Marinette narrowed her eyes. "Chloé. Seriously? That is unnecessary." She crossed her arms. Was she trying to get people akumatized?
