Gabriel snarled at the news when he saw the headline. The girl who kissed Chat Noir confesses feelings for Félix Agreste!
"This reality is already gone for," he mumbled.
The next segment was all about how every Ladynoir fan could finally rejoice since the heroes were now officially an item. Pathetic. He switched off the television.
The sun was disappearing behind the horizon when he heard the front door open, and Félix and Gordon entered. He got up from his desk and walked out of his office to them.
Gabriel blocked their path and crossed his arms. "I saw the news," he said flatly.
Félix avoided eye contact with his father. "Yes, I saw it too."
Gabriel loomed over Félix. "Do you like her, too?"
Félix quickly shook his head. "I'm not interested in dating her." He wondered why this, out of everything going on in his life, was what his father was concerned with. An angry voice in the back of his head said don't pretend like you care.
Gabriel raised his eyebrows. "Good." He returned to his office.
Since he had seen Marinette and Ladybug at the same time, he had to rethink his approach. He needed another akumatization to locate Queen Bee since Ladybug and Chat Noir foiled this one by kissing each other. Chloé could still follow Marinette, just in case. There were miraculous that could create illusions, and he couldn't write her out just yet.

The next morning, Félix paced back and forth in his room. At school, he was going to have to convince everyone he didn't like Marinette. This was his first real relationship, and he had to hide it from the world. He assumed Chloé was going to have a field day, and he wished he didn't have to subject Marinette to her taunts.
The comment his father made last night irked him. Why did he only care about making sure Marinette was not in his life? His father looked pleased when he told him he didn't want to date her. He wanted to tell him the truth just to spite him, but he refrained.
Gordon led him down the front steps to his car once it was time to take him to school. He was shocked by the kid's comment the night before. He knew they were head over heels for each other. It was completely obvious from the way they had been acting recently. He assumed the poor kid didn't realize it or lied to his father to protect the girl. The latter was more likely since Gabriel had an irrational dislike for her.
The ride to school was silent and uneventful. When they arrived, Félix took a deep breath and opened the car door. Marinette had told him to reject her in the courtyard before school so everyone could see. He found her standing there awkwardly with a large amount of people scattered around her.
He listened to the sound his shoes made when they hit the cement as he approached her. "Marinette." Her back was facing him.
She spun around. "Félix!"
The scattered crows started to gather. Everyone had seen the interview and quietly inched closer so they could eavesdrop.
He cleared his throat. "I saw your confession yesterday."
