Marinette fidgeted with one of her pigtails as she sat on the bench next to Félix in the courtyard at school. It was early, but Félix insisted they meet up to discuss their project. They hadn't worked on it all that much due to the recent turn of events. Marinette had been one minute late but she considered it an improvement.
"Marinette are you listening to me?" Félix interrupted her thoughts.
She laughed awkwardly. "Oh, yes." But, she could not remember what he had been telling her.
He rolled his eyes at her. "Pay attention." Sometimes, he couldn't believe she was the Guardian of the Mother Box, and technically in charge of him. Although fighting supervillains and listening to someone talk didn't necessarily go hand and hand.
"We'll need to meet up today to edit our presentation," Félix continued.
Marinette nodded.
"We could meet up at my-" Félix started.
Marinette flipped her palm up. "No! Please- I mean, maybe instead we can do it at my place?" She did not want to go back to his creepy house right now.
Félix blinked. "Is Plagg right? Is my house creepy?"
Marinette didn't protest because Plagg was right.

Alya leaned in close and eyed Marinette. "So, it looks like you and Félix made up." They were sitting in class working on a daily assignment.
Marinette flinched. "Y-yeah."
Alya prodded her. "Does that mean you like him again?"
"I don't know." Her voice was a harsh whisper. Félix was Chat Noir, the same Chat Noir that could annoy her to death. She realized she didn't know Félix at all. I can't just like him based on an infatuated perception of him!
Alya patted her arm. "More complicated, adult feelings now." She nodded. "I get it."
"Shut up!" Marinette protested but she had already started turning red.
In front of them, Félix stole a glance at her.

After class, Félix let his bodyguard know they were going to walk since Marinette's house was a short distance from the school. Gordon nodded and left. He had been more lenient with Félix since Gabriel barely checked in on them anymore.
Alya wiggled her eyebrows at Marinette as she watched them walk off together.
Marinette waved over her shoulder and ignored her friend. "Bye Alya!" She rolled her eyes at Alya's gesture.
They walked down the road towards her house as the city hustled around them.
Félix fidgeted with the straps on his bag. "Is it going to be okay if I show up unannounced?" His father would have never allowed him to have a friend over without a notice in advance.
