Ch 15: The Sly Fox

Helicopters hovered over the temple that seemed to appear from thin air. Marinette watched the morning news in her bedroom with Tikki. She was unsure of what the discovery would mean for them.

Tikki snuggled into her cheek. "You rewrote Master Fu's mistake, Marinette! I knew you could do it."

Félix took his seat in the first row after returning from their second break of the day. His mind hovered over the new temple that appeared. Since Master Fu was in hiding, someone from the temple could probably take his ring off now. He would still help them defeat Hawk Moth, but after that, he would give the ring back. Would Ladybug be sad if I left? The other students began to trickle in.

Alya and Marinette walked in together. "That temple has something to do with the miraculous," Alya said.

Alya had been up all night researching and comparing notes. Her hair was messy and her eyes sported dark circles. She downed coffee from her thermos which only made her twitchy.

Marinette feigned surprise. "Wow, really?" She raised her hand. "Mrs. Bustier, is it okay if I use the restroom?" 

Mrs. Bustier nodded and Marinette left the room. The day was nearing an end.

"Talk amongst yourselves for a second. I need to talk to Mr. Damocles," Mrs. Bustier said and went down the hall.

Nino was working on something on his desk, leaning over the paper and writing feverishly. Chloé started floating around the room, looking for someone to pick on. She came across Nino and stopped.

Chloé smirked. "Nino, what is this?" 

Nino covered the paper with his hands. "None of your business." 

Alya crossed her arms and stood up. "Chloé leave him alone."

Chloé snatched the paper from Nino's desk and began reading it.

She laughed. "This is a love poem."

Nino's face grew red. "Give it back." He snatched the paper back.

That should be enough for that stupid Moth, Chloé thought.

Gabriel smirked. Chloé must have upset one of her classmates. He was surprised she was able to follow through.

He admired the portrait of his wife before he descended to the darkness below. She is going to be impressed with everything I'm going to accomplish. A wicked smile formed on his lips.

The akuma hunted down its victim. It fluttered into the poem Nino clutched as he stood down the hall away from the classroom.

"Hypnospear, you now have the power to hypnotize people with your poetry. Everyone will be entranced by your words! All I ask in return is the Cat and Ladybug miraculous," Hawk Moth said.
