Anara wandered around the lab-house aimlessly, munching on caramel corn. She had just gotten back from another sign language lesson with Hero, but still had a good few hours before nightfall. Stein was busy with teacher stuff Anara had the whole house to herself. Absolute freedom and relaxation.
And she had no idea what to do with it.
No, I know what I wanna do. I wanna fight! I'm sooooo bored! I need an adrenaline rush! I need to be active! It was the first time in almost a week that she had felt energized and was no longer regressing into her mind instead of actually speaking. But it was sunday and she didn't have any missions she had already planned to take on. Dammit!
She had already gotten out of the house, so she didn't bother going back, just kept walking in the direction of the main part of the city, all jittery and bouncy with endless energy. Maybe she could go train with Maka and Soul? Or Kid?
The thought of approaching Kid and asking him to train with her made Anara's face heat up with embarrassment. We're always together nowadays, what if I come off as clingy?? Can't even spend the weekend without him. He probably has better things to do anyway. She kicked a rock dejectedly, now walking slow.
Then another, possibly worse thought invaded her mind. He's a grim reaper, and crazy powerful. What if he said yes and finally sees how lame I am in comparison?? I can barely summon non-weapon objects and I've been practicing for over a year! And fighting ability...he's totally out of my league... She had never doubted herself very much before. She was effortlessly good at school and naturally talented at combat, so especially when she applied herself she was always top of the class. Of course, she would get anxious about doing assignments with the other kids in case she made a dumb mistake (which happened unfortunately often), but she had never worried about being less than them. I'm not nearly as cool as he probably thinks I am. What if he stops being my friend? Or wants to stop but feels obligated to stick around, especially after what happened with the school doctor? This was definitely worse. She didn't like this feeling at all, but she couldn't push it away.
No, she definitely wouldn't go see Kid. Or even Liz and Patty on their own. She just had to hope Maka and Soul were doing something interesting and would let her join.

As fate would have it, they were! Soon Anara found herself on the London bridge with not just the scythe meister and her partner, but Blackstar and Tsubaki as well. She shivered as the snow fell on her exposed face. She hated cold weather with a burning passion (unless she could enjoy it from inside the lab snuggled up with blankets and hot tea by the fireplace).
But London was beautiful, so it was worth it.
"Hellooooo London!! Blackstar has arrived!!" Her blue haired friend declared loudly. His ceaseless enthusiasm almost warmed her up. "Yahoo!!" Why isn't this idiot wearing a jacket?
"It's snowing, aren't you freezing?" You took the words right out of my mouth Tsubaki. Your partner is crazy.
"Who cares about snow?" He asked, doing quick stretches. "Snow can't touch me. I could be naked out here and it wouldn't bother me at all." He turned around. "This whole thing sucks. Ever since Soul got himself hurt by that demon sword all our extra lessons have to be done with at least two teams. You guys better not slow me down, ok?" He said, rudely, pointing at Anara and the other team. Suddenly the feeling of inferiority reared up in her chest again, but she shoved it back down almost immediately. You probably shouldn't say that right in front of him, jackass. That reminded Anara that she didn't tell her dad where she was going before she left. Oops.
