"YESYESYESYESYESYESYES!!!" Anara was practically jumping up and down in the little row boat for joy. "Finally! I get to go on missions again!"

"Yep, wonderful, good for you Anna, but WILL YOU PLEASE STOP ROCKING THE BOAT!?! WE"RE GONNA TIP!!" A paddle came swinging at her from Liz's direction, forcing her down in her seat. "And you!" She turned to Kid who was standing up front. When Anara had first seen him this morning she thought it was Lord Death from the way he was dressed. "WILL YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHAT WE"RE DOING IN A ROWBOAT IN THE FIRST PLACE!?! WHY NOT A MOTORBOAT OR A NICE BIG CRUISE SHIP?!?! YOU KNOW, SOMETHING WITH AN ENGINE MAYBE!??!" The other dirty blonde's yelling was loud enough to drown out her sister's "row, row, row". Anara picked up another set of oars.

"Quit complaining," Kid answered flatly. "We're almost to our destination now."

Liz and Anara both turned around to look forward at a large cliff with some houses on it. "That's a nice enough looking village I guess, seems pretty peaceful."

"I'm not so sure about that." Her meister said darkly.

"Why? It looks fine to me." But from her spot a little further ahead Anara could see the giant ragged indents in the side of the land. They almost looked like bite marks...The fuck?

"Yeah, I don't think so either. What kind of monster are we dealing with!?"

"What!? What is i-" Liz cut off with a face of horror. "What the heck happened?"

Debris and destroyed ships floated haphazardly in what should have been the town's harbor. "A few days ago the people who lived here were swallowed up by something."

Liz whimpered. An understandable sentiment. "Along with their homes! Please tell me we're not here to find out what was responsible!"

"Oh come on Lizzie," Anara piped up. "You know better than that."

A little while later the group was standing menacingly in the doorway of a dark room, some poor, traumatized man cowering in the corner wrapped in a dirty brown cloak. Kid was trying to get information from him, but to no avail.

"Th-The Miiist..."

"Mist? What do you mean, what kind of mist?" The man groaned and only answered with a frightened chorus of "no"s. Kid was getting impatient.

"How vague, thank you," the girl next to him muttered. She then stepped toward the man cautiously. "Come now, it's alright, you don't have to be afraid. Nothing can hurt you while we're here. We eat demons and witches for breakfast!"

"Yes, calm down. We're here to help you. We've come from the DWMA to put a stop to whatever did this."

At that the man looked up, sounding like he dared not hope. "The academy?"

Kid's face fell into shadow as he stepped next to Anara in front of the man. "Yes, so please tell us in as much detail as you can what happened here."

"Blac-black dragon! The black dragon came! The black dragon came and ate our village!" He screamed. Then he screamed some more. It was very obnoxious.

"Hang on...Norway...Black dragon...." Anara gasped. "Yes!"

"What is it?" Kid asked, taken aback. "Do you actually know what he's talking about?"

"I think so, but we need to go to the library really quick, I need to check some things."
