It was ridiculously hard for Anara to lay flat on her back instead of curling into a little ball. If this didn't work she might not die right away, but she was out of ideas, so it would only be a matter of time.

And pain.

This time when the hammer swung down it felt like things were moving in slow motion. She could practically feel it shattering her collarbone with the knife handles already.

No! Stop that! Bad brain! Just then the bandage weapon finally touched.....and was ripped to shreds. She gasped in pain. They would definitely leave bruises, but at least nothing was broken. She hurried to stand up before the pharaoh could re-form for another attack. This time she summoned a long sword with jagged edges prepared to charge the sarcophagus. She needed to get him on the defensive or she would be stuck again. At the same time though, the back of her mind wanted to hold back in case it just ignored her and attacked the boy again.

No. If she was a threat it would focus on her. It was pretty obvious at this point the meister was useless. Ok, so why couldn't you have realized that a moment ago dumbass?

Before she could actually make the move though, the pharaoh decided she was to dangerous anyway. The sarcophagus opened with a loud scraping noise and the chime of a little bell. "I will come and deliver the final blow myself!"

Anara stared in awe and horror. The giant creature attached to the mummified hand that first came out was horrendous. One of it's first was a giant cylinder, the arm of which lead up to a pure white face with one black eye that had a red pupil on the left side and a large gold and blue candy cane like thing sticking out of it's mouth. There was a giant golden ring around its head, held in place by three spikes protruding from it's jaw, and two things that looked like axe blades, also striped gold and blue from either side of it's head. Last, it had a little bauble with a face on it in the middle of it's forehead. It's body was equally as disfigured, with another head in a brown wig attached to the pharaoh's right shoulder. She couldn't even begin to describe the rest.

The Creature (Anara refused to call such a monstrosity The Pharaoh) paused in front of them. The boy sat up immediately. The look on his face bordered annoyance and rage. Took you long enough! Despite having just been mecrcilessly attacked, his voice was clear as day.

"Right...left. Right, left. Right-" He let his head fall to his chest and the creature stepped forward again. Anara began to step forward as well, but hesitated. When the boy looked up again his face was pure rage, and it was something the young witch never wanted to see again.

"YOU'RE DISGUSTINGLY HIDEOUS!!! WHAT THE HELL KIND OF THING ARE YOU?! I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING SO MESSED UP IN MY LIFE!!" He struggled to stand.

"It's all over now." The girl in his gun declared. The other one just laughed.

"DO YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT SYMMETRY?! WHOEVER MADE YOU SHOULD BE DUG UP FROM HIS GRAVE, SHOT AND REBURIED!!" Anara was willing to do the honors of that herself, frankly.

He leveled his guns at it, crossing his arms. Anara noticed her was holding them upside down, with his pinkies on the triggers. "You make me violently ill...JUST LOOK AT YOUR FOREHEAD!!" He fired at the right axe blade. "You don't deserve such a jewel, in fact you don't even deserve to exist!" He began to fire a barrage of bullets.  "DISGUSTING, DISGUSTING, DISGUSTING, DISCUSTING, DISGUCTING-" He went on like that, just like the creature he was now tormenting had, until it fell to the ground and he had shot a large hole through the back wall. All that was left was the jewel that bounced and rolled in between the boy's feet. Anara gaped as she picked it up. "I feel much better now." Suddenly she was pissed.

"IF YOU COULD HAVE DONE THAT THE WHOLE TIME WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST KILL IT AT THE BEGINNING INSTEAD OF LETTING ME FIGHT FOR YOU?!"

Outside:

On the way out of the pyramid the boy and his weapons had introduced themselves and explained (and apologized) about Kid's symmetry obsession. He complimented her on her symmetrical face and perfectly parted hair as well. She was shocked to learn that he was also from Death City, and was actually Lord Death's son! She worried that he would hate her for being a witch, but when she introduced herself, he said that his father had informed him that Dr. Stein had adopted a witch daughter.

"Perhaps I could take you out to dinner some time to make up for all your trouble?" Kid suggested. Suddenly Anara forgot everything that had happened in the last few hours and a blush rose to  her cheeks. Stopitstopitstopitstopitstopit! A dinner date with this boy sounded very nice indeed.

She mentally hit herself. You just met him!! Stop thinking like that!

"Sure, that sounds great!" Anara was surprised she didn't stutter.

"By the way Kid, we collected an odd number of souls this time, so I have one more than Patty." Anara thought back to her own soul count, and realized that she hadn't gotten as many as she had hoped. Now she only stood at 97. She was actually kind of thankful they hadn't found the witch. If neither of them had the required number of kishin souls, there would be nothing to do with hers.

"Dammit! I can't handle that! We need another mission." Anara giggled, figuring it had to do with the equality between the two weapons.

"Okay!" Patty yelled. Her voice was rather high, and usually Anara would find someone like that annoying, but in this case she was really just like a little kid; it was cute.

"I want to put this whole episode behind me. That pharaoh was absolutely horrific."

"Yeah I'm kinda pissed to actually. The great pharaohs were certainly never that disgusting!" She had a fascination for ancient history, especially the mythology parts. This was a disgrace! She or Stein could have easily created a much better undead ruler than that. She sighed. "Anyway, you guys want to come see the other pyramids with me? There is no way I am going back without sight seeing. It's one of the biggest reasons I came!" Kid's eyes lit up and Anara smiled wider.

"Yes! And we can see all of their perfect symmetry!" The two eagerly chatted about the beauty of the ancient monuments before turning around to say goodbye to Anubis.

Needless to say the moment was ruined when it collapsed. Patty started laughing and Anara and Kid both broke down into hysterics and self hate. Liz and Patty hurried them home after that, just in case they might've ended up destroying another one.

"Oh, by the way Anara, did you take that thing from the pharaoh's head?"

"Yeah, I usually take souvenirs from missions."

"But isn't that grave robbery?"

".....At least I didn't destro-"

"OK, ok, jeez. Good thing Kid isn't here right now or he'd start crying again."

"Honestly, Liz I might too T~T"
