SOMEONE TAKE ME TO HELL. ANYTHING, TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS ANNOYING WOMAN.
There were times Chaeyoung thought her mom was unbearable to be around. Clearly the depths of her mind had erased Jaehyun's mother because she was beyond tolerable. She was the ticking bomb about to go off and Chaeyoung had the urge to run because of her unpredictable conversations. She can talk about anything but the moment her mother tried to talk about Chaeyoung, it was something personal/humiliating. Questions/Statements like:
Oh you have lost weight, are you starving yourself?
Are you on a diet? Gain weight!
Your clothes are too tight, we can all see the skeleton
Who took you shopping? This is what's in style?
Are you in a relationship?
Why are you in a relationship with that Busan man?
Would arise in the past, and if she could, Chaeyoung would've slapped her all the way to jupiter.
Jaehyun's mom knew how to push the buttons and no one had the guts to stand up for her except her sister.
OH I wish Alice was here right now. The one time I wish she got pregnant here rather than beforehand.

Jaehyun sat across from Chaeyoung, as jaehyun's parents were about to take their seats when his mother said. "Sit beside Chaeyoung. We'd like to sit beside her parents." He silently nodded his head, his body visibly tense with the request. Chaeyoung glanced at him, raising an eyebrow. What was he so afraid of?
As expected, his parents took the available seats beside her parents, and they were all immersed in a conversation, while Jaehyun took the seat beside Chaeyoung.
"Hey. Long time no see." Chaeyoung spoke, smiling towards the man who was the same age. She hid her shock, as they lost touch after he moved to the states. Puberty hit him well, and that's all she had in mind.
"I know right. I've just been so busy with everything. It sucks how we lost contact."
Chaeyoung nodded her head, reflecting her life beforehand. She remembered Jaehyun and her being practically stuck like glue. They were really close friends, and remembered crying for hours when saying goodbye to him to the airport.
Chaeyoung let out a chuckle, "I was ugly crying so much after you left to Los Angeles. How's LA been treating you? You're so 'American'?"
"Ha." Jaehyun chuckled, "It's okay I guess. There's not much excitement when you live in LA. However, if you're into concerts and a lot of social events, distance is convenient rather than booking flights to LA."
"You don't seem too happy about it."
"I miss Korea." Jaehyun admitted, briefly looking away. "Although I'm obviously accustomed to the American culture, I felt a part of me was missing."
Chaeyoung just nodded her head, wanting to lighten up the topic. She didn't expect Jaehyun's response to be slightly depressing.
"Have you been to this restaurant before?" Chaehyun glanced at the menu before looking at him again.
"No. I've been to Amsterdam a few times, but never been here. IS it good?" Chaeyoung totally missed the question. She was immersed in Jaehyun's physical features. She finally took the effort to really pay attention to Jaehyun.
He was much more attractive than she had expected. It's like he was a model.
Was he dating anyone?Damn why was he so hot?
"Chaeyoung?" A hand waved in front of Chaeyoung's face, making her blink rapidly.
"What?" Chaeyoung asked, completely confused by the action.
Shit, she zoned out didn't she?
"I asked you if the restaurant was good?" Jaehyun raised his eyebrows, waiting for her response.
"I don't know. It's my first time here."
Right before Chaeyoung was about to continue with the seemingly easy conversation, of course his irritating mother spoke.
How were they even related?
"Where is alice?" jaehyun's mother spoke in a tone as if she was displeased. Children these days didn't seem to have 'manners' in her opinion. Well fun fact miss know it all, Alice is a very mature adult who was happily married and busy creating a beautiful family.
Before Chae's mother could respond, Chae hurriedly spoke, "she's away on a business trip". Both her parents eyed her with confused expressions, giving the 'why did you lie?' look.
That woman didn't deserve to hear such happy news. No, she deserved no happiness in her life.
Chaeyoung was waiting to see what she would comment next. Was the topic going to target Chae and say that her shoulders were too 'bony'? Was she going to ask why Chae decided to dress up as a skeleton early for Halloween? What fucked up thoughts was she going to let out this time?
"Ah really. Decided to miss this trip. Mhmm." A frown was visible on jaehyun's mother's face and chae fought the urge to roll her eyes.
"Work is very important to her." Chaeyoung responded with a bitter tone. However the witch didn't seem to notice. "This trip was planned months in advance." Alice attending business meetings with strict deadlines wasn't a lie. The lie was, that it happened now.
"What a pity in missing out on an important dinner."
Chaeyoung wanted to scoff at her comment. Maybe throw in a couple of curse words.
There was nothing valuable in having dinner with the lady. The one thing Chaeyoung can get out of this was a nice unexpected reunion with Jaehyun.
Rather than saying a snarky remark, Chaeyoung let out a fake smile, "Shall we order?"
