Chapter 9: World of Shadow

Terra, Riku, Axel, Roxas, and Xion flew through the darkness with a couple members of the 358th. Most of the 358th was with Sora, Kairi, Aqua, Ven, and Obi-wan. There were only a few squads that were with the 501st. The gunships got to the surface and everyone disembarked into the battlefield. Roxas, Axel, Xion, Terra, and Riku blocked the fire of the Umbarans

"Where are they?" Roxas asked, "I can only see the direction their fire is coming from!"

"Then they're obviously that way," Riku said, "but I get your point!

"We have to take that ridge," Anakin said, "forward!"

They slowly made their way forward to the ridge. After they drove the Umbarans from the ridge they continued to make a strategy to help Obi-wan, Aqua, Ven, Sora, and Kairi take the capital.

"We should start by scouting the outskirts," Axel said, "see where the best point of entry is."

"If we send Fives and Rex," Anakin said, "they'll be able to handle whatever Umbarans are there."

"Keyblades might be better," Riku said, "us five will go and scout it out."

They heard a panicked commotion from the clones and saw a strange glowing droid skittering around and electrocuting clones. Roxas threw a keyblade into it. Then Umbarans began firing on them. An idea came through to the six generals to bomb the ridge. All of the Republic forces got off the ridge and a few seconds after, y-wings bombed the ridge taking the Umbarans down. Before they could continue forward a gunship descended and a four armed alien Jedi stepped out of it.

"Master Krell," Anakin said, "what brings you here?"

"General Krell?" Xion asked.

"Why is he here?" Roxas asked.

"General Skywalker has been ordered back to Coruscant," Krell said.

"Oh," Axel said, "and on who's authority?"

"The Chancellor himself asked for him to return."

"Don't win this battle without me," Anakin said, getting onto the gunship, "I still want to know how you work."

"No promises, General," Terra said.

The gunship left and Krell immediate began giving orders.

"So," he said, "you five are the generals that Skywalker asked to serve with him."

"Yeah," Axel said, "you should see our record. We--"

"I have no interest in war records," Krell interrupted, "only results. You haven't participated in many campaigns. Stand at attention when I am addressing you. I haven't seen anything among you that Skywalker has, and as such, I will be the only general in this detachment. Now, Commander Riku," he said addressing Riku specifically, "where is the lead clone?"

"His name is Rex," he said, "and he's the one who was standing next to General Skywalker when you came."

"Good. You five are dismissed."

All of them relaxed as he went away.

"Does he even have the authority to demote us?" Axel asked.

"I don't know," Terra said, "I don't think he should, but for now, let's just follow his orders."

They began marching after Krell when he gave the order.

Many hours later they were still marching. Everyone except Krell seemed to be getting tired. Even the five wielders were getting exhausted.

"General Krell," Riku asked, hiding his fatigue, "permission for the men to set up camp?"

"Denied," Krell said, "we keep moving forward."
